Rosalina nodded, and taking her hands, she let them wander his face. Gently she found his lips before brining him to her and kissing him before she wrapped her arms around him, burrying her face in his neck. "I don't want to be blind." she confessed.

Kissing Rosalina gently back in return, Darius only wrapped his arms around her tighter as she buried her in his neck. "I don't want you to be blind either, love," he whispered.

"Shh," Gareth whispered as he traced his hand along Calista's back, sending a sensation of pleasure through the blonde woman. "It will be all right," he whispered to her.
"You don't know that, Gareth," Calista whispered with a sigh, her voice breaking slightly as more tears filled her eyes. "If a miracle does not happen and she remains blind, it will be partly my fault."

Rubbing her back, Darius gently rocked Rosalina in his arms. "We will make it through," he whispered, trying to reassure himself that everything would be all right---that this nightmare was temporary and his love would once again have her sight.

Turning Calista toward him so she could look up into his eyes, Gareth gave her a tender smile. "Rosalina chose to go outside. She did not give you much chance to protest," Gareth told her softly as he gently caressed her cheek.
"But---" Calista started to say, although Gareth put a finger to her lips to silence her.
"You cannot blame yourself for all the mishaps and foul deeds that occur, my darling," the mage whispered to her before placing a light kiss to the top of her head. "It will tear you apart or drive you mad," he whispered. "And I could not bear to see either happen," he added, worry for her in his eyes.

"Yes, if that is what you want, Ro," Darius remarked as he gently swept Rosalina into his arms and carried her to the room they were sharing.

Sighing softly, Calista averted her gaze. "I'm sorry," she murmured to Gareth. "I seem to cause nothing but trouble and sorrow," she added softly.
"That is not true!" Gareth replied more sharply than he intended. Wincing slightly, Calista did not raise her gaze up to his.
"Yes, it is," she replied. "If it were not, you wouldn't have to do all the extra work you are doing now. Nor would you be as frustrated as you are now," she mumbled.
Drawing in a deep breath to calm himself, Gareth tilted her chin up to his face. "Rose, I love you," he whispered as he moved his hands to cup her face gently between them. "And doing extra work is not truly work when it is for the lady who holds my heart," he whispered. "And I am not really frustrated. Just worried about you," he added softly before leaning forward to kiss her lightly on the lips.

"Sure, love. I'd like that," Darius remarked as he gently lay Rosalina down on the bed before lying down beside her and pulling her into his arms. Holding her close, Darius just drew in a deep breath, wondering what the future would hold for them. He would never leave Rosalina, of that he was certain, but he could only hope that a miracle would happen and she would get her sight back.

Returning Gareth's kiss gently, Calista felt all of her worries vanish for a single moment. Yet when she pulled back, she could feel them slowly creeping up on her again. Sighing softly, she glanced back at the fish to check their progress. When they were finished, she set them on a platter and turned to glance at the main room to see that Darius and Rosalina had left.
"Might as well store everything again," Calista remarked to Gareth, giving him a weak smile. "Unless you want to have a bite to eat," she remarked, not exactly hungry herself.

Glancing down upon Rosalina and seeing her start to cry, Darius just held the woman close and gently rubbed her back. "Let all of your emotions out, Ro. You have suffered much in these past hours and you don’t deserve to," he remarked softly.

"I'm fine," Gareth remarked. "But you should eat, Rose, if only a little to keep up your strength," he told her softly, concern for her in his eyes. He knew how much emotional and physical trauma she had endured over the past few days, and how hard she was working trying to keep their guests as comfortable as possible. Nor was it lost on him on how little she was eating the past few days. She ate with the group, but seemed to eat less than the already small amount she was accustomed to eating.
"I'm all right," Calista replied softly. "I-I just don't think I can eat right now. But I'll eat a bit later, I promise," she said softly, hoping Gareth wouldn't force her to eat at the moment.
Sighing softly, Gareth doused the fire before turning back to Calista. "All right," he replied softly, keeping it in the back of his mind to make sure that his love ate something later.

Rosalina bit her lip as she heard him, but let it all out. She never really cried this much. She had cried when her mother died. But When she was ravished the first time she didn't cry. yes she had cried of and on for the last several days, but to cry for everything, she had yet to do that. "Darius." She wimpered. "Why is my life cursed." she asked, maybe she wasn't at fault, but so many things have happened to her.

Holding her close, Darius just remained silent as he continued to rub her back gently. "I don't know, Ro," he finally said in response to her question. "I wish I did, but even after many years of walking this earth, I still don't know," he added. "All I do know is that you did not deserve any of it, but sadly sometimes life is not based on merit but chance," he remarked quietly.

Leaving the food where it was for the time-being, Calista turned to limp back into the main room. Understanding her idea at once, Gareth quickly walked to her side and stopping her for a moment, quickly swept her into his arms and carried her into the room.
"Gareth, my love, you don't need to carry me everywhere," Calista remarked with a gentle smile.
"Shhh, dearest," the mage remarked. "Your ankle has been re-injured due to the pressure you have put on it in your haste, and I don't want it to get worse. So until it heals properly, I am going to carry you whether you like it or not," he remarked with a smug smile.
Giving him a loving smile, Calista merely rested her head against his shoulder. "You are just so good to me," she whispered, gratitude in her voice. "But I fear if you keep this up, I will become terribly spoiled," she added.
"I don't think you could be spoiled, love. I have tried for years," Gareth replied as he sat down on a chair with Calista in his lap. He did not care if he was breaking decorum at the moment. He had the woman he loved in his arms and he just wanted to treat her like the princess she was to him. Moreover, the only people in the house now were Daniel, Darius and Rosalina. The others had returned to try and rebuild the village and their lives and ever since Calista had been ravished and nearly slain, Daniel had been more tender to his daughter's affections for the mage after the rescue---letting the couple break societal rules as long as it was in reason. "Just relax, dearest," Gareth whispered to her as he held her close. "I'm here and I won't let another hurt you again."

Figuring that letting Rosalina cry was the best thing for her right now, Darius just held her close and let her, even though it killed him to watch her tears. He never wanted her to suffer any pain, but it seemed that he was doing a horrible job in protecting her from it.

Smiling softly at Gareth's words, Calista remained silent as she just rested against him. Walking into the room then, Daniel just smirked as he saw his daughter on the mage's lap. "It is a blessing we do not have many guests at this moment," he remarked. "Or else you would both be forbidden in acting as such," he remarked lightly.
"You don't have to worry about that, father. We will not disgrace you in any manner," Calista remarked softly, a tired smile tracing her lips, content to remain as she was for now.

As Rosalina cried herself to sleep, Darius leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead though he did not wake her. After everything she had endured, he figured that her body needed to rest.

"Are you all right, daughter?" Daniel asked as he sat down on a wooden chair.
"I'm fine Abba," Calista remarked softly. "Please don't worry," she added in her quiet voice. Glancing over at Gareth for reassurance the mage just gave him a slightly sad smile.
"What is it?" Daniel asked softly concern in his eyes.
"Gareth, I'm all right! Stop fussing so much over me!" Calista exclaimed in frustration, raising her voice to the mage which she so rarely did that it caught Daniel by surprise. Realizing what she had just done after a moment, Calista merely lowered her gaze. "I'm sorry," she whispered softly.
"Don't trouble yourself with it," Gareth remarked to her gently and placed a light kiss on her forehead and held her tighter as Daniel glanced over at his daughter in concern.
