Daniel sighed as he glanced over at Rosalina. "Just forget about it," he remarked softly. "I'm sorry too," he remarked, all the fight and anger leaving him in a rush. All he wanted now was for his daughter to live...especially after she had tried to protect him. "Daughter, please hold on. What good is life, if my stupidity cost me my only child," he whispered. Leaning over her, Gareth placed his ear her lips, wanting to gage her breathing rate. "She still remains in the shadow of death’s door," the mage remarked sadly.
"Is there any hope?" Daniel asked.
"We can try and wait it out or we can try and transfusion, but I am not that familiar with the art," he remarked.

"I've only heard of it being done once or twice," Gareth remarked. "It is where one can give blood to another," he remarked. "But they must be of the same race or species if you will," Gareth remarked. "Which will rule you out Darius, though I wish not so you could fix this," the mage hissed.
"My blood may work, but since I am a full mage, our blood may not be compatible."
"Then let me," Daniel remarked. "She is my daughter."
"Age also plays a factor in the success rate," Gareth told Daniel softly. "Generally the younger the better---within reason of course," he remarked.
"So you are saying you want to test this on Ro?" Darius growled.
"Watch your tone with me," Gareth hissed. "Calista is near death because of you. And believe me if she dies, your death will not be enough to pacify my wrath."

Darius slowly nodded but still looked worried. "How safe is this?" he asked Gareth.
"I will monitor her to make sure she is all right," the mage remarked. Leaving the room, Gareth fetched a knife and some thin, pliable reeds and after creating a tube, he motioned Rosalina over to the bed. "I am going to have to make small cut on your arm," he told her, wanting to warn her on the process as much as possible. "And I will try to keep the transfer down to a minimum," he added, not wanting to put another woman's life at risk as well.

Sitting her on the bed next to Calista, Darius took her hand and squeezed it as Gareth cut a small cut in Calista's arm and inserted the tube before doing the same thing to Rosalina. As blood flowed through to the tube from Rosalina into Calista, Gareth monitored both women to make sure everything was running smoothly.
"Hold on, my daughter," Daniel whispered to the woman as he gently touched her cheek. After some time passed, Calista's breathing deepened a bit and Gareth breathed a sigh of relief.
Leaving the women in Daniel's care, Gareth quickly got two cloths for bandages and first took the tube out of Rosalina's arms and bandaged her arm before doing the same for Calista. "Thank you," Gareth told Rosalina softly before turning his attention back to his love that lay unconscious on the bed. "Why did you stop the transfusion?" Daniel asked.
"I did not want to endanger Rosalina," Gareth told Daniel softly. "Calista would not want that," he remarked.
"But will my daughter live?" Daniel asked.
"Her breathing has stabilized. But she needs to rest," Gareth remarked, placing a gentle kiss on Calista's forehead.
Ignoring Daniel and Gareth, Darius kept his attention only on Rosalina. "How are you feeling?" Darius asked her, concern in his voice.

Rosalina sighed. "tired. a bit dizzy. My heads been hurting since Daniel hit me where I hit my head in the fall." she said. then a small smile came to her lips as she looked towrds him, seeing the movement of her hands going to his face. "I'm lucky the blow did not halt the improvement, and make my eyes worse." she said hoping he got the hint.

"He hit you on the head?" Darius growled, wanting to throttle the man again. However, his violent train of thought came to a halt when Rosalina mentioned an improvement to her eyes. "You are getting your sight back?" he asked her, unable to hide the excitement in his voice before he leaned forward to kiss her gently.

Staying close to Calista's side, Gareth gently caressed her pale face. Why didn't you let me handle Darius? the mage thought to himself, knowing that she threw herself in front of Darius' attack because she thought that he and her father were in danger. "My brave, sweet maiden. Leave all fighting to me. I don't want to see you hurt again," he whispered softly in her ear before placing a tender kiss on her lips.

"Then this is a good sign," Darius remarked softly. "It means that your sight is slowly returning and what you have suffered is not permanent," he added before kissing Rosalina's cheek lightly.

Sitting by her bedside, Gareth monitored Calista's vitals as Daniel stood next to him. "I shouldn't have attacked Rosalina as I did," the old man said softly to the mage. "The sound drew my daughter hither to conflict when she should have been resting," he remarked.
"I cannot condone how you violently lashing out at the woman, but you are not the only one to blame for Calista's injuries," Gareth remarked as she shot a steely glare at Darius.

Chuckling as Rosalina hugged him tightly, Darius quickly returned her hug, glad that the blindness seemed to be temporary. "And I am glad for it," he told her softly.

"I am not sure yet," the mage remarked. "Right now, I just want to take care of Calista and make sure she recovers," Gareth remarked as he gently caressed the woman's cheek.

Holding her close, Darius placed a tender kiss to the top of her forehead. "I was afraid that you would be blind forever too," he whispered. "You don't need to be strong, Ro...especially over something as great as possibly losing your sight," he told her softly.

Seeing the color slowly starting to return to Calista's pale cheeks, Gareth smiled softly, noticing the improvement. Her skin was still rather white, but at least she did not look as if she were on the verge of death. "Come back to us, beloved," Gareth whispered in her ear before placing a gentle kiss to the top of her head. "I need you physically with me," he added softly as he lightly touched her face.
"Something needs to be done about him though," Daniel whispered to Gareth. "That man has hurt my daughter enough," he added in the same hushed tone.
