Smiling softly as Gareth kissed her deeply yet so tenderly, Catalina returned his kiss just as gently, wanting to convey the depth of her love for him. Yet in her frail state, she knew that she could not kiss him as passionately as she wanted to. Her heart and soul were willing but her body just didn't have the strength to.

A few days passed and Catalina seemed only to be getting worse. At times she would cough so violently that she would cough up blood and she had the hardest time trying to hold down even the smallest morsel of food...often vomiting soon after she had eaten. During the entire time, her fever still remained high and she would often drift in and out of consciousness. "Gareth..." she murmured softly, wanting now to only have him near.

Gareth came to her bedside. He had been stirring soup, hoping it would be somthing his wife could hold down. "I'm here." He said taking her hand. "I'm here my love." He put a hand on her head, wanting to cry at the fever he felt.

Smiling softly as she heard his voice, Catalina slowly opened her eyes as she felt his light touch on her forehead. "A-re you...all right...resting...enough..." she asked him, worried that he was not getting enough rest with having to tend to her constantly. "I-I'm sorry to...Ohhhhh...." she moaned as the words died on her lips. Without warning her eyes suddenly glazed over and she just stared up at him with a blank, fixed gaze as her body started to convulse violently on the bed.

Catalina did not hear her husband's desperate pleas as the convulsions took her. Accidently biting her tongue as her body shook violently, the woman started to choke on her own blood.

Still convulsing as Gareth sat her up and bent her forward, a slow trickle of blood began to flow from her lips and splatter on the bed. As her shaking grew worse, vomit began to fill Catalina's mouth, causing the woman to choke more. Blue eyes rolling back as she could no longer breathe, Catalina's eyes fluttered close as her body just flopped with her violent tremors.

Catalina's convulsions continued for a few more minutes before they suddenly ceased and her lifeless body slumped back on the bed. Blood and vomit were still deeply lodged in her throat and her skin turned a dark blue as she could no longer breathe.

As Gareth pushed on her stomach, the blood and vomit that had lodge in her throat sputtered from her mouth. Yet even with her throat cleared, Catalina still did not breathe, nor did she have a pulse.
