Gareth had checked for a pulse and felt his world fall from under his feet. "No. . . " he started CPR.

Catalina just remained limp and unresponsive on on the bed as Gareth performed CPR on her. Her skin had become a chalky white and despite her heart ceasing to beat only a little while ago, she already looked as cold as death.

Catalina still remained unresponsive as Gareth started to breathe life in her. After about five minutes, a sharp gasp escaped deep from within Catalina's throat as she began to cough as air started to flow into her lungs and her heart began to beat weakly again.

Gareth sighed in releif and kissed ehr head. "Thank god." he whispered. "I thank the gods." He held her in his arms.

Catalina remained limp in Gareth's arms as her coughing faded; her face still extremely pale and her fever still high. Moaning softly as her head fell to the side, Catalina's eyelids began to twitch slightly before ceasing to flutter. "My...love...?" she murmured faintly, still too weak to open her eyes.

Sighing contentedly as Gareth kissed her head, Catalina turned weakly to try and snuggle against him, only wanting to be as close to him as possible. As time wore on, she could feel her body slowly starting to give out, and while she was trying to fight death for as long as possible, she could tell that he was coming for her.

Gareth held his wife the rest of the day. He needed money for a cure, and tomorrow he would go and see what he could find.

After many hours had passed, Catalina stirred once again and her lashes slowly started to flicker. "Love..." she murmured weakly, needing to tell him that if something happened to her that she loved him and her heart and soul always would.

After a few minutes, Catalina's eyes slowly fluttered open and she gave her husband and the love of her life, a weak smile. "Love...I need you to know...that if something happens to me....that I love...you..." she whispered weakly as she gasped for breath. "That...I..have always...loved you..."

Cataliana gave Gareth a weak smile before she reached out and gently caressed his cheek with trembling fingers. "I-I just want us both...to be ready...if the worst happens. Gareth...I love you....and I always will...you have always been a good husband...ever faithful and true...but if I die...and you find another....just love her. Do not bind your heart...to the dead..." she added as her voice trailed off. She could feel Death reaching his pale hand out for her and while she was fighting him as best as she could, she was only growing weaker by the moment and did not know how much longer she could last.
