"I-I'm sorry...I..." Catalina started to stay as she gave a harsh gasp before ceasing to breath. Her glazed blue eyes dilated and her fixed gaze stared into nothingness as she suffered a brain hemorage and her heart to cease to beat.

Calista felt her heart break all the more for Gareth at his words. "I'm sorry," she whispered, not knowing what else to say as she held him. "I can see you still love Catalina, and I know that I will never be able to replace her, but if you need a friend, I'll be here for you," she whispered before lightly kissing his cheek.

Calista gave Gareth a gentle smile as she tenderly caressed his face. "You are a good man," she whispered. "If you were not, then why protect my sister and I from my husband's men? Why stay here now knowing that it could mean a death sentence if my husband ever comes? We all have done things we regret, but deep down I can sense that you have a good heart, Gareth," she added quietly. "Don't ever doubt that," she whispered in his ear.
