"Sir, I don't want any trouble," the owner remarked.

"Maake me!" Darius bellowed and staggered toward him to try and hit him.

Gareth just watched the woman. He kissed her hand and pleaded for her to wake, his plea's spoken in his head.

A soft groan escaped from Calista's lips although her lashes did not flutter.

The man evaded Darius' clumsy swing before punching him in the stomach. Groaning as he doubled over, Darius just gasped for breath as he placed his hand over his stomach.

Calista groaned again and her eyelids twitched for a brief second. "Ro...." she murmured her voice weak and barely audible.

Staggering to his feet again, Darius made another clumsy swing at the man, his anger at a boiling point.

Moaning softly again, Calista's head slipped to her shoulder as her lashes fluttered again. "Ro..."she murmrued her sister's name again. "I-is...e-e-everything..." she struggled to say still finding it difficult to open her eyes, yet she needed to find out if her sister and Darius were okay.

The man evaded Darius' blow for a second time before hitting him again in the midsection.

Drawing in an unsteady breath, Calista finally managed to force her eyes open to small slits. As Rosalina's blurred image came into view, she gave her sister a small smile. Glancing weakly about her then, she smiled at seeing Gareth at her side. Yet someone seemed to be missing and it took her a few minutes to realize that it was Darius. "You...and...D-darius..." she managed to force out, knowing how much time Darius loved to spend with her sister and she could only pray that the couple was not having problems because of her. She was not fond of the man...now she was more frightened of him than ever, but if Rosalina loved him, she did not want to stand in the way of her sister's happiness.

Groaning once more as he doubled over, Darius just panted for breath. "I think you need to leave," the man said again as he roughly jerked Darius up by the arms and started to escort him out the door.

Groaning in pain as Darius landed hard on the dirt ground as the men tossed him from the tavern, Darius growled as he pushed himself to his feet. "Yooou willl paay for thaat!" he slurred in a loud voice before shifting into a dragon.

Calista gave Rosalina a sad smile at her words. "Do....do not...let yourself....feel bitter...over what....happened to me....he only...spoke the truth...." she whispered weakly. "He...he still...loves...you..." she murmured as she drew in a shaky breath. She was not fond of Darius but if he made her sister happy and kept his distance from her, then maybe they could all co-exist together.

"A shifter!" the men shouted in horror as they started to back away.
"Run!" someone shouted.
"Get help!" cried a third.
"Kill the beast!" exclaimed a fouth as Darius released a drunken roar and unleashed a stream of flame on them.

A few men screamed in agony as they were consumed by Darius' flames. Suddenly a warning call was taken throughout the village.
"Kill the beast! Kill the shifter!" the people cried as Darius roared again.
