He definitely lost some weight! I was getting used to the clown.  This is new the PJ. Let's hope The Hobbit will reach the same level as LOTR and i will be damned satisfied. _________________

I'm still surprised when I see him.  He looks like a totally different person! Not only is he skinnier, he's also lost the chubbiness in his face. You know, he's actually quite attractive now!  Bag End looks great as well. At first I was a little worried about how different it looked in the side-by-side comparison, but then I realized that he's sitting in different scale sets so maybe that accounts for it seeming so changed. _________________

He may have become a little bit vain, but it may just be that he realized he would be superfamous now and that his appearance maybe mattered a little more. or maybe fran realized  that being said, I didn't care one bit what he looked like before - I liked it  _________________

Wow, I almost don't believe that's the same man. Whatever his reason for shaping up, as long as he did it in a healthy way, it can't be anything but good for him. Being in shape isn't negative :)
But on another note... I think my favorite thing about this picture is the welcome mat. I don't really have a reason for that thought, though.

I don't think he's the sort of person that would do that just for vanity. Also, seeing Bag End again has made me so giddy, it's ridiculous. I do miss the old PJ...the one who looked like an oversize hobbit and would go jumping out of helicopters into the snow with his shorts and bare feet............buuuuut, for his sake and health reasons, I'm glad he's in shape. But can't we make him wear his awesome glasses again? Boo on laser eye surgery! I loved the glasses!

While I too hope PJ lost weight because it's good for his health, I know he's been having serious issues ever since he did. Just recently he was in the hospital (can't remember why right now), so while his losing weight definitely is good for his health, it seems he's not entirely healthy anyway  _________________

Yeah, he had a stomach ulcer which had perforated.
I know stress can lead to either causing ulcers or making them worse, so I honestly would have thought he would have had one long ago tha caused him problems. I think it was pure bad luck that this happened after he lost weight, as I'm sure it wasn't connected.
I know how miserable stomach problems can be, so I just hope he looks after himself whilst juggling family and filming.

I definately miss the glasses! I don't know why - I used to have glasses like that and I hated them.  But they were PJ's glasses. But as somebody who's worn glasses and/or contacts since were 7, I can see the appeal for lasik eye surgery. But for old times sake, maybe he should don them again! Because what is Middle Earth without PJ's b*tchin' glasses? _________________ "So what? So plenty!"

^I get it too I mean, I know some of you guys said he probably did it for vanity, which I suppose to a certain degree he might have, but I know what a drab wearing glasses and contacts can be, and it can be really impractical as well so it's not necessarily all for vanity. _________________
