Nodding wordless, Billy picked Darius up from the back of the wagon and followed Rosalina back to her room before laying the man in her bed, wanting to bolt from the house as fast as possible.

Meanwhile Calista remained asleep in Gareth's arms, her breathing light though not yet labored.

"Idiot," Gareth muttered, his eyes hardening at the idea of helping his greatest enemy---the man whom he blamed for his wife's death and not to mention attempted suicide of his new love. He did not yet know the details but had heard enough to know the man's direct involvement in it, and for a fraction of a second he was tempted to let Darius suffer for his sins. Yet as he glanced over at Rosalina and at the pleading expression on the woman's face and then down at the woman that slept in his arms, he knew he had to help the man....if for no other reason than for the sake of Calista and her sister. "All right, I'll see what I can do," Gareth remarked before laying Calista gently down on her bed and pressed a kiss to her forehead before turning to follow Rosalina.

Walking over to the bed where Darius lay, Gareth glanced down at the man who struggled for breath and writhed in pain on the bed. Not feeling much sympathy for him after all he did, but deciding to aid him, Gareth started to rummage through his pouch to see if he had the necessary herbs to make the needed elixir for shifter poison.

Searching through his pouch, Gareth managed to find the two herbs that he needed and he immediately walked outside to draw water from the well.

Darius' breathing remained labored as he lay on the bed.

Soon Gareth returned with a bucket of water, pot, cup and ladle. After starting a fire, he poured some of the water in the pot and set it over the roaring flame so the water could start to boil while he crushed the needed herbs.
