The issue of which browser is better has been a debate over the web since its beginning. As such, many browsers have made their debut on almost all platforms. I would like to invite you all to a courteous debate regarding the browsers (their glories and failures and, if any, additions that would be most welcomed). Which of the Power Four do you prefer? Firefox as well. I've been using it for years, and only rarely have issues with it.

I think my favorite is all but IE. I use all three in close sync. My main browser is Safari - as it has a great interface. I use Firefox for bugs and CSS writing. I use Google Chrome for speed testing and other bug fixes. I also use Firefox for YouTube downloads and most "forum" viewing - as it blocks unwanted ads and such.

Firefox!!!
JF - IE is more virus and spyware susceptible than the other browsers. It doesn't block enough unwanted ads and pop-ups either. And like you noticed with the forum update, IE is so sensitive to HTML coding and can only interpret this or that version of HTML. Think of it as a five lane motorway where Firefox/Chrome/Safari drivers can use all five lanes and zig-zag between them as they choose, whereas IE drivers, depending on what kind of car (version) they have, can only use one of the lanes at a time.

JF: Or think of IE like a Hummer. It has a lot of cool gadgets (and looks nice), but its bulky and completely impractical.

Except unlike a Hummer, IE prepares you quite badly for battling against the Forces of Evil when necessary (i.e. [HAHA IE] spyware and similar bad stuffs).

I have all four browsers installed and use all of them at points in time. My main (and favorite) browser is Firefox, because I have been using it for so long and because it is safe and fast. Especially since I DL'ed 4.0 today. I recently downloaded Chrome on my laptop for my mother to use instead of IE, which has given me several heart attacks when it caused the blue screen. I only use IE to check the compatibility of my coding when I change site layouts. Same with Safari. I find Safari slower than FF and GC, pretty interface, but slow and it takes forever to start up. Safari probably runs more quickly on Macs and I use a PC. :/

I have all four of them installed along with Opera. I use Chrome most of the time. But recently I've had the bug with Chrome when flash player crashes after about 10 minutes of using Chrome. So I've been using Firefox more often recently. But it looks like the flash issue with Chrome might be fixed as I haven't had the issue for a week or so now. *touches wood* Firefox annoys the hell out of me although I think that's more to do with my university network. Because I've been a Chrome user for so long (I got it a few months after it was released) I'm so used to using the address bar as a google search bar as well. Even though on Firefox4 they do have that feature, because of my university network I don't get a google search using it.. I get a really annoying and rubbish OpenDNS search instead. I've tried to fix it but I've mucked it up and now I can't type anything into the address bar. Even a website address.. I just get directed to google homepage and if I try to click on search results from google I just get redirected to the google homepage. I know what I need to do to fix it but I haven't got around to doing it as Chrome is working OK at the moment. (I've been at home for the past 3 weeks and I don't have that issue at home, the address bar on Firefox works perfectly.. It's something to do with the uni network..) Safari and Opera only really get used when I have multiple accounts on websites and want them open at the same time. OK, only for Neopets. So Chrome FTW.

Hiya browser-knowledgable people!
When I use Firefox 4.0.1 I think, I experienced the browser freezes sometimes when I try to open a link or watch a video.. And it freezes all the other brower windows too so I have to restart them. (not other browser windows though). Why? And what can I do?
My IE used to do the same. I would get a 'Global host stopped working' message up to multiple times a day but it seems to have stopped now, fortunately. Since it was driving me nuts... I've tried Google Crome but I haven't figured out how to customize it so for now I just think it's annoying...

K I just switched to Chrome a few days ago... and I can't believe I didn't do it sooner. *beep* Firefox.

Hmm, if it has happened to you in both browsers, it may be a computer problem and not the browser. I have not experienced freezes with the latest version of Firefox (FF 4), and I didn't with the previous ones either. The only time when I get funky action is when Google Images leads me to an effed up site where the image is hosted. Do you use tabs or individual windows? (although it shouldn't really matter) I have no idea. How old is your computer?
