A very warm welcome to Mebediel and Cael, we're glad to have you. It's great to have so many new members joining us and I hope you will enjoy yourselves here. Linaea, I'm planning on reading the Hobbit when we're done with the Trilogy so perhaps we should do another reading group for that - at least you can easily jump into those discussions since you will have just read the book. Hello! I'm a writer and an artist. I love everything Tolkien related and he is my major inspiration in the novel I am writing. I love listening to music, lots of people think I'm a nerd, and I'm always reading or writing. Cheers!

Hi everyone, my names Zonky and I'm a newbie I have loved Lord of the Rings since the first film came out when I was 8 so I made an attempt at reading the books then but didn't quite get them. It's only now that I'm older and reading them again I realise how amazing they actually are! I try and get my friends to appreciate the brilliance of the films and books so a few nights ago 2 friends and I tried a Special Extended Edition movie marathon which lasted from 9:30pm till 9:30am the next day. I was the only one that managed to stay awake the whole time but my goodness, never again...  I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone on the forum as you're all so kind to one another! ^.^ _________________

@ Elberen: Hello there, Elberen! I'm Elenthari, or just Elen for short.  Writer and artist - great, can't wait to see your works around the Fan Art and Fanfiction section. What's wrong with being nerdish?  I found myself being one. @ Zonky: Welcome to the forum, Zonky! I know what you mean - I saw the films at first and later I read the books with the understanding of an older person. It was then, when I discovered the magic of the Lord of the Rings. LotR EE marathon - it's been a while since I had one of these. And usually I'm the only one who manages to stay awake all the time.  But it's fun, thanks for the good idea. ^Agreed! The Mouth is .. almost comical and I'm pretty sure Tolkien didn't intent on having any comic relief there! Anyway, welcome to the forum Zonky and Elberen.
