Niko sat waiting for her. As he sat he thought he saw something move in the corner of the room. ''who's there?''
he was not entirely sure if there was something there, it seemed someone stood there, yet there was no-one there. Standing up and moving closer he took a look. He gasped as his eyes took in what seemed to be the figure of a man. ''Death'' he heard a voice say. It was cold, and void of any pleasant emotion. The figure disappeared before there was a knock on the door, still shocked he sat on the bed, unable to stand. ''Come in''
He groaned as he saw Elanor, with an odd gleam in her eye. ''My Niko'' she said. It was apparent she had been drinking somewhat. ''You should not be here'' His tone was blunt.
''There is no need to be rude. You know you can do much better than her.Such as me '' She spoke as she moved towards him, before he could have a chance to speak or react, she jumped on top of him, kissing him deeply.

"Niko!" she screamed as she jumped into the tree and climbed up, jumping into the room and shoving her hood back, "Niko! Are you al---" she stopped, her heart thudding to the floor. He was kissing Elanor. On the bed. Her face went white and she could hardly breath. Her lips were parted in shock and hurt. She was in pain. Physical pain. She gripped her midsection.

Niko's heart stopped in his chest when he saw Nienna jump through the window. He threw Elanor off him and went over to Nienna ''This is not what you think''
''It is exactly as you saw it'' Elanor surveyed her spitefully as she spoke. ''He wanted the better choice''
Niko grew angry ''Do not speak'' he shouted at her. He turned to Nienna, truly scared.

She backed away till she was against the wall, dizzy and her face was deathly white except for the bright red of her still burning scars. She was trembling. There was no life without him. Death. Pain shot through her middle and she doubled over. Her jaw clenched from the pain. It was Elthor. It had to be--she cried out as the pain got worse.

''You should leave us to finish'' Elanor said as she draped her arms around Niko.
His temper had finally snapped. He took her by her upper arm and led her to the door tossing her outside. Bolting the door behind him, he rushed over to Nienna, noticing how her scars seared red and her jaw clenched in pain.
He took her arms to steady her, ''Nienna, love, what can I do?'' Niko began to panic, tears coming to his eyes, he would do anything being more concerned with her well being rather than explaining.

She looked up, and her eyes got wide as she spotted something over his shoulder. She cried out, knocking him to the side as the shade of Elthor raised his hand, and black shadows shot out. She took the shadows, crying out in pain. She glared at the shade, and her vambrace clicked. "go...to...hell..." she panted out and her blade shot out toward the head of the shade. The shade chuckled and disappeared. Nienna collapsed.

He was shocked as she pushed him over. What happened next made his heart stop. An apparition of what seemed to be Elthor shot blackness towards Nienna. She collapsed as the shade disappeared before them.
He panicked, terrified. Scrambling over towards her he took her in his arms, bringing her body to his for warmth. Gently rocking her, he spoke, ''Nienna love, speak''
He would not let her die. Without her his life was meaningless, unfulfilled. If she passed he would not be long in following.

The pain was so great. she could feel her body trembling. Nko? He was alright! A tear of happiness slid down her cheek. She drew ragged breaths in, and a second tear fell. A tear of blood. Her conscious mind latched onto the feeling of warmth from his body. She would not leave him. She would not. In a gasping breath she spoke, "say...say it. Niko. Say it. Please." she had to hear him say he loved her. She needed it. Those words would guide her, she knew.

Tears began to fall from Niko's eyes, scare of losing her. He gasped as he saw a tear of blood fall from her eye.
''Le Melon Nienna. I love you utterly and completely.''
He took her hand and pressed it to his chest, against his beating heart. '' For you. My heart beats only for you. Without you it will have no purpose.''
He almost began to plead with her. ''You are my everything. I will not survive absent your touch. ''
Niko pressed his lips to hers in desperation.

She closed her eyes and focused on his words. His love is what would keep her going. She followed the light of the words through her mind and soul. Where truth is, darkness cannot hide. The truth of his words and love chased the shadows away. She began to breathe easier. Her hand that was against his chest pressed to him with more strength. "thank you...Le melon. Le melon Niko."

Niko pressed her hand harder to his chest at her words. Gently picking her up from the floor, he carried her in his arms to the bed, before setting a blanket around her and taking her in his arms.
He himself was trembling, scared for her life. Kissing the top of her head, not knowing what else to do he began to sing to her.
He sang of the trees, the skies and mountains and then of love and life. Niko rocked her as he sang, his voice was gentle.
Niko hoped that he was helping. She was his angel, he needed to look after her.

She loved it as he sang, her heart following still even those words. She opened her eyes "Water..." she coughed out, partly to relieve her scars and partly to drink. She moved her head so that it was propped up on his chest. "Niko. I'm sorry." she began to apologize for leaving the room in the first place.

He poured her a cup of water and held it to her lips, taking care not to spill any. At her indication he began to lightly dab at her scars, careful not to press to hard.
''There is nothing to apologize for. What matters is that your safe. Though I must ask, why did you leave our room?''
He was curious, did it have any relation to the shadow he saw?

She blinked before replying "I had a dream. When I woke my scars were burning as they had been in the dream. That's what set me off first. Second," she looked sheepish, "I saw the same figure from my dream standing outside our window when I was awake." she pressed his hand with the cloth tighter to her scars.

He paused, confused slightly. This figure was both in her dream and out of the window?
He had an idea of who it was. "Elthor?" It was a question yet it sounded to be more of a statement.
He still dabbed at her scars. To his eyes, she appeared to be recovering somewhat, yet she was still weak.

Her jaw clenched "Yes." she resolved to send Elthor's shade beck to the underworld where it belonged. That thing had tried to kill Niko! Her hand curled into a fist upon the bed, determined. She had killed Elthor once, she could kill him again. Another pang went through her midsection, so strong it nearly lifted her off the bed. She refused to cry out.
