He held her, gently rocking her.
''Let's go back inside.''
He took her hand and led her back inside, with Raven following them in as if sensing the tension in Nienna.
Niko was still shocked at what had happened. As she strained herself, she had began to bleed. He could only hope that she would never be forced to use it when she could be vulnerable to worse.

Nienna didn't let go of him. She couldn't right then. "I hate it." she whispered. And she did, it was not something she had asked for, and after seeing what she could do, she truly hated it. She kept hold of his hand as she sat by the embers of the fire, pulling her knees up to her chest.

" It may be a blessing in disguise".
He held her, hoping she drew comfort from his touch.
"You never know, you may end up glad of it if it saves you one day. It already helped us when I was taken "
He squeezed her hand, giving her a reassuring smile.

She nodded and leaned against him, thankful for his words and presence. "You're dealing with this really well, thank you." she offered a small smile and squeezed his hand.

"How do you know I'm not just biding my time,waiting for a chance to flee and tell all about what I have seen?"
He gave her a smile with a hint of mischief in it.

"Because I know you better than that." she reached up an gave him a peck on the nose. She decided to forget about what had happened tonight, for now. She took a cleansing breath and smiled "Are you hungry again?"

He smiled as she kissed him.
"You speak the truth. Yes,love I am actually. And you will join me in a meal. You've not eaten all day."
He gave her a stubborn look, showing he wouldn't budge in the matter.

She opened her mouth to say she wasn't hungry still, then closed it again at the look on his face. She went and cut a larger piece for him, and the smallest piece for herself that she thought she could get away with and place them over the fire after puttin more wood on to burn. She sat and watched, the wheels in her head turning again. "You have not had pain for a while." she smiled, glad of it. "Perhaps you will make a speedy recovery after all, she could only hope.

He nodded in thanks as she agreed to eat.As he ate he considered her words.
"Yes, it is good.Your mother told me it would eventually stop. With luck it shan't be too long."
He looked at her, marveling at his luck.How she took care of him, without asking for anything in return.
"Le hannon, love"

"you are welcome, sweetheart." she let out a big yawn, and then flopped over "Dear me, I'm afraid we both need sleep now!" she was too hot, she took off her tunic and pants then quickly snatched her cloak, wrapping it aroun herself. "Will you sleep too?" she asked, looking up at him then moving the blankets around.

He winked at her as she removed her clothes, then followed up with a pout as she covered herself with her cloak.
''I shall sleep soon. But first I would like to sit by the fire a bit''
As he spoke he had a sudden thought. I would like to do that for her. He smiled having decided on something to do for his dear wife.
Niko went to her and kissed her once on the lips and once on the head. ''Sleep, love.I shall join you soon.'' He moved and sat by the fire and patiently waited for her to sleep.

She nodded and laid down, closing her eyes. It wasn't long before she felt herself drifting off. It had been an exhausting night. Her mind began to wander and soon she ws walking through her dreams. She smiled softly in her sleep as she dreamed of her husband. A sigh escaped her lips, then she was still.

He sat there for a while, staring into the fire. It was odd to think how one person could control such a thing using their mind. As his mind moved back to the present he noticed Nienna had fallen asleep. He got up and picked up his knife and left the cave to look for what he needed. After some time he saw the perfect piece of wood that he could use. It was in fine condition and already fairly smooth. He cut off what he needed and returned to the cave.
Sitting down by the fire, he drew his knife and began to carve and whittle. It took some time before it had any recognizable shape. He worked for a few hours, stopping occasionally to glance over at Nienna.
Hours later he was finished, in his hand he held a new flute. He put his lips to it and blew quietly. A soft note was heard. He then carved the word Angel into the side.
Not bad if I do say so myself
Niko then lay down and joined Nienna, placing the flute beside her so she would see it when she woke up. With a smile on his face he fell asleep.

It was later in the morning before she finally woke up. She slowly opened her eyes and stretched, then glances over at a sleeping Niko. She lightly placed a kiss on his forehead before putting her hands on the cave floor to push herself into a standing position. Her hands hit something on the ground, and she looked then uttered a gasp. It was a flute! A beautifully carved flute! She picked it up with reverence and looked at it. It had the word Angel carved into it, and she knew it had been Niko. Her eyes reared up as she looked over to him, then began to softly play. Her eyes closed and a happy tear rolled out from beneath her eyelids.

Niko woke from a deep dreamless sleep some hours later, to the sound of a soft mellody. He opeened his eyes slowly and gave Nienna a smile"good morning ,angel. Do you like it?"

She stopped playing, set the flute down, and tackled him in a hug, crying happy tears "My dearest, sweet Niko, I love it, thank you!" she squeezed him tighter, laying on top of him. She lifted her head and kissed him passionately. "Thank you so much, my love!"
