He kissed her cheek once again as he continued rocking her, waiting for the sun to rise completely.

She tightened her arms around him. Daylight would bring safety. How she knew that, she didn't know. He brought her so much comfort, and she needed it right now.

Before long it was daytime. Birds could be heard singing outside their windows but he made no move to open them for multiple reasons, Nienna primarily.
''It is day, angel'' he said, tilting her chin up so she could look.

Her tightly shut eyes didn't move for a seconds, then one popped open and scanned the room slowly, then the other popped open and she blinked. "I don't ever want to see that again." she whispered as she looked at him. Then a random question popped into her head "How is it that you do not have a hangover?"

He grinned at her question.
''I am blessed, not to suffer from hangovers. Though at times I remain drunk, even after sleep, as you no doubt saw last night.'' He was glad she was feeling better, he could sense how terrified she had been.

She nodded. "You are fortunate." shebwas sober now. "We need to find out what that was." she whispered, even though the thought scared her. She shook her head and grabbed the ale, draining it.

''How should we go about that?''
He was glad it was daytime, the dread they were feeling had left them, which he took as a sign that the creature had left them, at least for the time being.

She shook her head. "I don't know...can we just leave for the ocean today?" she leaned her forehead on his. "maybe if we leave for a time it won't watch the house anymore." it was a longshot, she knew, but worth a try.

He wasn't sure what to say. Would leaving be the best thing? He couldn't help but wonder if it would follow them into the wild, by themselves they would be less of a threat. There was also the problem of who was to rule in their absence.
''The morning after we choose a temporary ruler, we shall start our journey'' he said slowly.
''If you agree, you are queen.''

She nodded, seeing the sense in his words. "Ok." she looked at the lock she had taken off the door, and got up, proceeding to put it back on. If it got into the house, this was their first defense against it. She wanted it to work.

He watched her attach the lock back onto the door. He wasn't sure if it could get in but he was glad it had failed the night before. What did it want?
''What are it's motives?'' he said aloud, pondering the question.

Her back stiffened at his question. She hadn't told him what she had seen in the creature's eyes. "Me." she whispered. It had wanted her, in a disgusting way. It had been clear to her. She finished attaching the lock, and leaned her forehead against the door.

He raised his eyebrow, confused.
''You? I do not understand.'' It wanted her? Did she mean it wanted to harm her or something else entirely?

She turned to look at him, a haunted look in her eyes. "I looked at its eyes..." she opened her mouth, her jaw quivering a bit as she searched for words to describe it. "Hos intent was written clearly in his eyes." she shuddered. All she had seen was complete lust and hunger and evil.

Niko still did not understand her meaning.
''It means to kill you?''
He noticed how she shuddered and stood up and pulled her into an embrace, keeping her close to him.

"It wouldn't kill me right away, judging by the lust in its eyes." she laid her head on his chest, closing her eyes. Here in his arms she was safe. Nothing could hurt her here.
