Caran nodded. "I also think a nights rest would do us all some good." Caran dropped down from Argo, patting him likely. She raked in her saddle bag and found food for Argo. "Thank you for the food, Lona," she added as an afterthought, glancing at the bag in Feredir's hands.

Lona only nodded, deep in thought. She would be damned if she would get any sleep, she thought. She watched the other two intently, not sire why they had followed her. Feredir had done his best to explain, but she still was not sure what to think.

Caran found a log to sit on and enjoyed her food. Argo graized near by. Caran watched Lona and Feredir intently. Lona seemed deeply worried about the mage. Caran wondered about Lona's family tree. Perhaps that had something to do with the mage attacking her family and loved ones. Or was it something to do with Lona herself? Her eyes focused on Lona. "Are you sure there is nothing more you can tell us? It seems strange that the mage would follow you for so long."

"I don't know anything, believe me it was as much of a shock to me as it is to you. I've been trying to think, trying to figure it out." she sighed and gripped her head on both sides with her hands. "It makes no sense, none of it.."

"Perhaps it will with the further that we go on..." Caran mused. "Take some sleep, both of you." Caran said to Lona and Feredir. "I shall take the first watch."

Lona looked at her. "No need to do that, I don't mind keeping watch." it was her fault, she might as well take the watches.

Caran shook her head. "I will hear no more on the subject. You are exhausted and it is clear for all to see. Take some rest while you can Lona. Who knows when we might get the chance to do so again." She watched her, compassion burning in her eyes. "I assure you I am very alert and not the least bit tired."

Lona watched her carefully before nodding. "Thank you." she nodded her head and retrieved her bed roll an laid done under her blanket, staring up through the trees. Everything was just escalating into something she didn't know what to do about. She hated that feeling, hated uncertainty. She closed her eyes and was soon asleep, her hand clutching tightly to the ring that hung around her neck on the chain.

Caran watched over Lona and Feredir protectively. Caran's hand rested on the hilt of her sword as she peered around the surrounds. Her mind fell to the situation the three of them faced. Was the mage going to haunt their steps? What did the mage want? Was the mage involved with the orcs? Was he controlling them? From the looks of it the mage was very intelligent and it would appear he had been studying Lona for some time. Caran hated not knowing the answers to these question. However, she knew at one point or another the answers were going to come to them. Caran wondered how the answers would appear. They were in for a long journey indeed.

Her dreams became troubled. She dreamed of her parents, and of her aunt and uncle. They were in pain, writhing on their beds. Lona was in the room, tears pouring down her face as she reached for water to give to them. But as she did so, the water smelled strange. She sniffed it, warning red flags raising in her mind. "Poison!" she exclaimed outloud and sat straight up, sweat pouring down her face. Poison! They had not died from the fever!

Caran had been watching Lona's troubled sleep. Lona tossed and turned, her brow had furrowed at the scenes in her mind. Caran gave a gasp as Lona awoke and was swiftly by her side. "Shh Lona!" she said, her hands working their way to Lona's shoulders, rubbing them gently. "Easy now. It was just a dream."

"it was poison, not fever..." she gasped for air as her shoulders relaxed under Caran's fingers. "But why? Why would someone poison them?" she rubbed her temple, another headache forming.

"I am sure those questions of yours will be answered soon enough. I know it is hard, but you must try and focus on the task at hand. I know I sound cold, but I do not mean to." She frowned deeply as she continued to rub Lona's shoulders. "No one regrets the trouble you have been through more than I."

"Don't be regretting anything. Apparently it's my war." she shook her head as she sat. How on earth would she defeat a Mage?

"Our war. Do not take on such a burden by yourself. There is no shame in asking for help." Caran stood and looked around the area. "We shall give Feredir a little while to rest, then I am afraid, we must keep moving. These parts do not seem safe to me. Then again, are any parts safe anymore?"

"He needs it." she glanced at him. Then stood, stretching then pacing back and forth after she had packed her things up.
