She looked from him to the shirt, ad though unsure. She got a little closer to him, watching him carefully.

Thoril sighed and pulled on his shirt. He glanced to her briefly before returning his gaze to outside of the cave. He watched as people came and left the small town. Should he have done that too? He shook his head, peering at the people. Suddenly there he was. Thoril gripped the hilt of his sword. Callie's former betrothed glared through the trees as he slowly walked up the path.

She gasped and saw him. "Please, I beg of you, leave!" she whispered, putting her hand on his arm "Please!"
"Callie!" the harsh voice called. She trembled.

Thoril pressed a hand to her mouth. "Shh. He cannot see us," he whispered as he watched the man move on. Thoril frowned deeply. It was taking all of his strength not to run out and teach the man a lesson.

She trembled as Eodain walked by, her hands covering her arms subconsciously. She stepped closer to Thoril, frightened still. But she remained silent.

Thoril reclaimed his hand and pressed a finger to his lips, gesturing for her to remain silent. He took her hand and slowly emerged from the cave. His eyes remained trained on Eodain. He walked in the opposite direction, his pace quickening. He glanced to Callie to ensure she was able to keep up with him.

She walked along, matching his pace, her eyes wide. She walked silently, even. Her mind begged fate to not let Eodain see them. She prayed and pleaded as they walked.

Thoril darted between the trees, glancing behind constantly. He breathed a sigh of relief as they neared the inn. He stepped inside with Callie. "I do not know about you, but I could do with a drink. Would you like one?" He asked with a smile.

She doubted she could hold it down. "N...no, tha...thank you." she swallowed "I..." she wanted to go to her room, but she couldn't even talk right now.

"I understand," he whispered. "Go on. Get some rest. You have had a long day," he bowed his head to her. Taking his ale he walked over to a table. He sat down with his drink and pulled out his trusty leather-bound book.

She walked up to her room and sat on the bed, looking at her arms as she rolled up her sleeves. Tears began falling at the scarred mess. She picked up a vase of flowers and threw it at the wall, making an awful noise. She saar back down, silent tears cpursig down her face.

Thoril gasped as he heard the shrill sound of a vase breaking. "Could it be...?" He stood up, biting his lip tightly with worry. He walked, quietly, up the stairs and along the hall to Callie's room. He hesitated, pursing his lip pondering what was best to do. On a split decision he raised his fist and tapped on Callie's bedroom door. "It's Thoril," he said. "Are you...alright?" He asked nervously.

She couldn't hide the tears from her voice. "I'm...just fine..." she called, wiping her cheeks, but the tears kept coming everytime she looked at the deep scars over and under her arms. She had tried to block him off, using her arms as a defense against the sword.

Thoril could hear the tears in Callie's voice. His instincts screamed at her to leave her alone. Leave Callie to soothe herself. He just could not bare the thought of he crying all on her own. "Are you sure?" He asked hesitantly. He sighed deeply. "I know I am just a stranger to you...But if you need someone to talk to...Well I am here." He paused by her door, waiting for her answer.

She slowly walked to the door, and opened it, not meeting his eyes as she wiped her own still. Her arms were still showing, but at that moment she didn't care. She just wanted him there, and she didn't know why. She sniffed, and sniffed again. She finally looked up at him, her arms hanging at her sides.
