Lairiel looked up, surprised. "If you are sure you don't want rest." perhaps she could help Him and Holly along.

Morohtar smiled to her faintly. "My mind is too awake for me to get any rest." He wandered over to Lairiel and took a seat beside her. He peered through the trees cautiously, throwing a glance in Holly's direction from time to time.

"Why don't you just tell her?" she asked him, curiously.

"What?" Morohtar asked in mock surprise. The facade soon fell. "If I am honest I do not know how to tell her. I do not even know if she feels the same about me anymore." He pulled a pipe from his jacket pocket and lit it. "Why would she love me?" He puffed at his pipe, careful to not let his claws get near his face.

"Why wouldn't she love you, is the question." she took out her own pipe and joined him in a smoke. "With the way you are around her, you protect her, adore her... What more could she want? I think that she is feeling the same way. Perhaps," she paused, taking a puff and letting it out, "You should take it slow. Romance her, show her how much you love her." she glanced at Holly. "I do not think it will be in vain." Lairiel surprised even herself. She didn't know the first thing about love like that. But she did have intuition.

"You're too kind," he blushed at her first remark. "I wouldn't know how to go about romancing her." He glanced around and lowered his voice. "I haven't really done this before. I haven't felt this way about anyone before." He smoked at his pipe, exhaling heavily. "She was a fiesty one, even when she was younger. She became very protective of me when I was dragged into her uncles home."

"Well then that should tell you something." she knew that she was thought of as one of the guys, even to him, so she sat up. "What things does she like?"

Morohtar leaned back on one arm, folding his legs out in front of him. "As far back as I can remember she has dreamed of becoming a Ranger. She loves all things Ranger. She would sit and talk for hours about them. She hoped one day, that one would come and save her." He looked to Lairiel. "She certainly was right about that one. Holly loves sunsets. She used to talk about a calm that she felt when the sun fell beyond the horizon. When she had a moment away from her uncle she liked to read or cook. Boy her food was good. She was very talented too. Made tasty meals out of almost nothing." He grinned, stealing a glance at Holly to make sure she was still asleep. "She is very mature for her age. She has had to grow up way too quick."

"Then buy her a book, buy her things to cook with. Help her in her training to become a ranger." she looked away, embarrassed by his comment. Lairiel had done nothing but what she had to do. It was nothing great. "Once she sees that you noticed these things, that you took them to heart and that when she sees that the things that matter to her, the things that make her happy matter to you; that her happiness matters to you..." she paused to smile "I know Holly will give you her heart." she fell silent.

"Thank you for the advise Lairiel." Morohtar smiled warmly. "I hope she does learn to love me again. I just wish I knew what made her stop loving me..." He frowned deeply as he smoked his pipe. He shrugged his shoulders. "You have done incredibly well with her. No doubt you are her idol right now."

"Maybe she stopped because she thought she would never see you again?" she puffed her pipe slowly. "I wish to be no one's idol. They need to save their respect for the royals." she looked straight ahead, as though thinking on something.

"To Holly, you are a royal. You have no idea how long she has wanted to be a ranger." He grinned thoughtfully. "She's a very sweet woman. It's a shame she had to grow up so fast." He glanced at Holly, frowning slightly.
