[Haha you are totally not keeping me up. I'm up as well!]

Megan stopped in front of her bedroom door and then looked over it, swallowing hard. She didn't want to let go of Legolas, but she knew that she had to. She looked back to Legolas and then slowly let go of his arm, smiling to him softly. "Thank you, Prince Legolas..." She said to him softly, leaning against the door frame, watching him a bit. "Sleep well." She spoke lightly in the Elvish language and was practically fluent in it, to her surprise. She curtsied to him slightly and then slowly turned and walked into her room, resting her hand on the door. She looked over her shoulder to him once more, to take a last look at his gorgeous self and then closed the door behind her.

Leaning back against the door, she then bit her lower lip, looking up to the ceiling with a big smile on her face. "Oh my god..." She whispered to herself, happily. She couldn't wait to see him the next morning; she knew that it wouldn't come soon enough. She hoped that none of this was a dream. It felt too real to be a dream.

-------------------------

Frodo walked with Arabella to her room a bit slowly and so many questions were running through his mind. He wanted to know so much, even about the Ring. But, mainly Arabella. Taking a deep breath, he heard her speak and then paid full attention to her, as they continued walking. He nibbled on his lower lip and nodded a bit to her, as they reached their destination. He let go of her arm kindly and then faced her, watching her. "I understand, Miss Arabella. Thank you. I'll see you in the morning. Sleep well." He said softly and then smiled, before walking toward his room again.

When Allison awoke, sunlight was streaming through the gauzy curtains in the window, and that fresh, calming scent still hung heavy in the air. She lay there for a bit, looking up at the ceiling, too comfortable to move. The night before, she had been afraid to fall alseep, scared that doing so might 'wake her up', as it were, and send her back home. Still, tiredness had overtaken her, and after struggling to find some way to get up onto the bed--which was decidedly not Hobbit-sized, she had fallen into a deep sleep once again, the mattress she lay on so soft it was like sleeping on a cloud.

Now, she smiled sleepily. The spell, whatever it was, had not broken. She was still in Rivendell.

Allison sat up in bed, glancing around. The room was simple, but still beautifully decorated. On a chair in the corner, she noticed someone had laid out a dress for her to wear, and she wondered where they had found Hobbit-sized clothing. Leaping down carefully from the bed, she put on the dress and opened the door to her room, walking out into the hallway.

Once out of her room, she put her hands on her hips, looking first to the left and then to the right. She and Megan--Amara, you've got to call her Amara now, she told herself sternly--were supposed to meet with Lord Elrond this morning...but where was he?

--------

The night passed quickly, but so many questions were running through Legolas' mind that he had little rest. When morning dawned, he rose and ate a small breakfast before going to the library to pass the hours before Lady Amara and Lady Arabella awoke and spoke with Lord Elrond. He was sure someone would come to fetch him when he was needed, though after a while he decided to go find the two females himself. Perhaps they were already speaking with Elrond, and he was missing it.

After Megan had finished freaking out about actually having some alone time with Legolas, she had a chance to look around her room before she went to sleep. She really didn't want to sleep for the same reason that Allison had; she didn't want to wake up and not be in Rivendell anymore. She didn't want to never see Legolas again. Her mind strayed to him, as she slowly let her emerald green eyes scan her surroundings. The room was large and of a light purple, setting a perfect scene with the glow of the candles in play. There were beautifully elaborate drapes everywhere and it made her almost feel like there was no ceiling because of it.

Sighing happily, Amara slowly sat down on her large bed and kicked off her new Elvish shoes that she had acquired when coming into Middle Earth. She laid on her back and crossed her ankles, before putting her hands behind her head to just enjoy her room a bit. But, the bed was so comfortable and she was feeling sleep overtake her so fast; making her give in and just fall asleep instantly.

Waking up in the morning, she heard birds chirping outside and felt a bit of the sun shining in her bedroom door and onto her face, since she had a balcony. She yawned a bit and then stretched her arms, before sitting up and smiling widely. She was still there.

She got out of bed and looked over to one of the chairs that was in the far corner of her room, seeing a beautiful dress laid out for her, along with some new shoes. She smiled widely and ran over to it, excitedly. She took off her previous clothes and put it on, looking at herself in the mirror. She really did look like an elf. She then stopped and gasped, gently touching her newly pointed ears. She had been so infatuated with Legolas that she didn't even realize that she had transformed into an elf. Now it made sense that Allison turned into a Hobbit!

Even happier now, Megan left her room and headed down the hall, hoping that she would find Elrond somewhere. The area was large and confusing. Going around a corner, Megan didn't hear anyone coming but she ran right into someone and fell onto the floor. "Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry..." She said softly and felt really embarrassed.

(You get to choose who it was xD)

---------------------------

Frodo had been up and about for quite some time, due to Sam, Merry and Pippin wanting to eat and explore the grounds a bit before they left on their journey. He sat down at the dining table with them and ate a little, not acting like a normal Hobbit. His mind was still on Arabella and Amara. He needed to go hear what Lord Elrond knew about them. He got up from his spot and Sam looked up to him, curiously. "I'll be back, Sam. Just eat." Frodo said and then Sam nodded.

Frodo then walked out of the dining hall and looked for the girls and Lord Elrond.

(So I thought about Legolas, but decided that would be too perfect. So congrats, you get to meet Aragorn!)

Aragorn immediately knelt to help the elven maiden back to her feet. "I am sorry," he said quietly. "Are you hurt?"

Once she was back upright again, Aragorn offered her a polite but reserved smile. "You must be Lady Amara, am I right?" he asked. "Lord Elrond sent me to fetch you and your companion, and I believe someone is getting Frodo as well. In time, you will come to meet the rest of our companions, but for now, it is only a few of us who will be present. Come. Follow me."

----------

Allison hadn't been wandering long before she decided two things: one, that Imladris was even more vast than she had imagined from watching the movies, and that the Hobbit feet were going to take a very long time to get used to. She was clumsy enough as it was, but these awkward feet made walking without falling over even more difficult. She hoped she would get used to them soon.

Turning a corner, she came across Megan being led by Aragorn, and her eyes widened. "M--Amara!" she called, waving at her. Her eyes fell on Aragorn and she executed a clumsy curtsy. "Good morning," she said.

Megan looked up and saw Aragorn in front of her, speaking. She smiled a little and slowly got up with his help, dusting the front of her dress off. She curtsied a bit to him and nodded to what he asked. "Yes, I am Amara. I was actually trying to find Lord Elrond right now." She said softly and started to walk with him.

She looked around a bit, trying to find Legolas but couldn't see him anywhere. She made a face, but then saw Allison. "Arabella!" She shouted back in response, smiling widely.

Aragorn smiled at the Hobbit lass, pleased that he didn't have to track her down now through the halls of Imladris. The sooner he could get them audience with Lord Elrond, the better. "Good morning, Lady Arabella. Lord Elrond is expecting you both. Now, if we could only find Frodo..."

------

Allison gave Megan an ecstatic smile as Aragorn led them both along the halls of Rivendell, stopping at the entrance to another large chamber. "He is waiting for you," he told them. "I will return shortly, for I must find Frodo. Legolas too, I believe. Lord Elrond wishes us to speak with him before we inform the rest of the Fellowship of your presence. You should go in. I will be back in a few moments."

(You seem to have an idea of what Elrond knows, so I'll let you take the lead on this!)

Megan walked with Aragorn and Allison toward where Lord Elrond was and heard what he said about fetching Legolas and Frodo. She nodded to him and stood outside double doors that Elrond was apparently behind. "It was nice to meet you, Aragorn." She said softly and then looked down to Allison with a big smile.

---------------

Frodo arrived at where Amara, Arabella and Aragorn were and heard his name mentioned by the Ranger. "No need to find me. I'm right here." He said softly and smiled, before nodding to the girls. "Good morning, mi'ladies." He said softly and then looked up to Aragorn again. "Shall we?" He asked Aragorn.

Allison smiled at Frodo, relieved that he had shown up and she could now look someone in the eye without having to crane her neck upwards. She made a mental note to never complain about being short again if they ever returned home. "Good morning, Frodo," she told him.

Looking to Aragorn for approval, Allison knocked on the double doors. "Enter," came the voice of Elrond. Aragorn opened the door, and they all filed in, finding Elrond seated at a long table with Gandalf by his side. Interesting. Legolas, Gandalf, Aragorn, and Frodo were all requested to be here too. It's like Elrond's gathering up the most important members of the Fellowship of the Ring together...to talk about Megan and me! "Please, sit," he told them, "for we have much to discuss. I've sent a servant with a message for Legolas, he should be here shortly."

-------

Legolas hurried along, not wishing to be late to Lord Elrond's meeting. When he arrived, however, he found that this was indeed the case. Mithrandir, Estel, and Frodo were all seated, with Arabella on Frodo's left and Amara next to her. "I apologize for my lateness, Lord Elrond," Legolas said, taking the only available chair, across from Amara.

Megan took a deep breath, as she walked into the room where Lord Elrond was. She bit her lower lip and saw Gandalf there as well. She curtsied to them both. "Good morning." She said softly and then slowly sat down, smiling a little. She tucked some of her brown hair behind her ear, showing off the point in it even more.

She hoped that Legolas would arrive son, because it seemed that without him around, she grew nervous. Nibbling on her lower lip, she heard someone walk in and looked up, seeing Legolas and hearing his apology. She smiled kindly to him and tried to keep her cool. Watching him sit across from her made her feel a bit more giddy than usual.

-------------------

Frodo walked inside with Allison, Megan and Aragorn and sat down in a seat right beside Allison. He took a deep breath and listened to Lord Elrond's voice, nodding a bit.

Just then, Legolas hurried in; knowing that he was late. He smiled a bit and then looked down to the table. He didn't know what was going on, but he was quite curious.

------------------

Lord Elrond looked up to see Legolas and nodded to him. "Please sit, Legolas." He said in the Elvish tongue and pointed to a seat across from Megan. He saw him sit and then placed his hands in his lap.

"We are involved in dark times, my friends. We need all of the assisstance that we can acquire. Arabella and Amara are here for a sole purpose. To give strength to the Fellowship of the Ring, when they become too weak to try." He stated simply, hoping everyone would understand. "They are not of our world. But, they have more knowledge of our world than we think. Do not underestimate them. Protect them as you would Protect Frodo and the Ring. They will be trained by Legolas for archery and combat by Aragorn." He added.

As Allison listened to Lord Elrond, she felt her heart begin to race. This was it. This was real. They were here for a reason--they were here to help the Fellowship of the Ring! It was as if everything had become clear all at once, and yet ten times more confusing at the same time. But what if we can't do it. This is real. This isn't a film--it's not a game anymore. What if it's too hard?

"It's true," she spoke up after Elrond said that she and Megan knew the world of Middle-earth well. "We do. We know everything about you--" she stopped short, realizing just how suspicious that sounded. "I mean...you can trust us. I promise you that." Her eyes flickered to Aragorn's, to Legolas', to Gandalf's, then finally settling on Frodo's next to her, hoping they would see the sincerity to be found in her eyes.

-------

Legolas nodded at Lord Elrond's words, his eyes darting between the two women. To think that they were not of their world, and yet knew of it, and of them, was a strange prospect, but he trusted Elrond and Mithrandir. They would not lead them astray, not with so much at stake.

He raised an eyebrow at the mention that the two would be receiving training from him. Amara was one of his own kind, she would perhaps have some skill with a bow at least, but what of the Hobbit? He had not seen Frodo and his friends in battle, but he had to assume they were rather unprepared. This would prove interesting, both for him and for the small creature he must now train. Still, he nodded in agreement. "It shall be done. Lady Arabella, Lady Amara, we will protect you in whatever way we can. I swear to it. And as for your training, we should begin as soon as possible, if that is agreeable to you." Aragorn nodded as well, echoing Legolas' words with promises of his own.

------

So be it, Allison thought to herself, feeling light-headed with panic and excitement. We are the newest members of the Fellowship of the Ring. She glanced at Frodo, wondering if he could see the fear in her eyes. This was every Lord of the Rings fan's dream, right?

Then why was she suddenly so terrified, even as she couldn't wait to set out on their journey?

Megan listened to Lord Elrond's words intently and then bit her lower lip, hoping that no one thought them to be highly suspicious. She swallowed hard and then heard Legolas agree to train them. She knew that their future in Middle Earth was going to be highly dangerous and very difficult. But, it had to be done. She slowly nodded to what Legolas asked and then stood up in her spot, looking over everyone. "I know that what you're hearing doesn't sound good. That we sound like spies. But, trust me... We would do nothing to harm you. You all mean more to the two of us than you realize." She said softly and then took a shaky breath.

She had no idea why she was getting emotional. Maybe because of the fact that where she was and what she was wasn't a dream. Maybe because she would be in harm's way and she had to keep everyone strong. "Excuse me, please..." She said softly and then walked out of the room, hurrying down the corridor.

-------------

Frodo listened to what Lord Elrond said and was stunned. He couldn't believe that the girls weren't even from Middle Earth and yet they knew more about it than everyone thought. He then listened to Arabella and Amara speak, feeling sorry for Amara when she left the room. He shook his head and then looked to Arabella. "I will protect you as best as I can." He said softly.

He knew that he would barely be able to protect himself, but she was giving him a new reason to be strong. He didn't know why he felt so strongly about her at this point, but he knew that he HAD to do it.

--------------

Lord Elrond took a deep breath, once Amara left the room and then glanced over to Legolas. He motioned for him to follow her and calm her down. "She is most comfortable around you, Legolas..." He spoke gently to his Elven brother in their native tongue.

This was going to prove difficult.

Allison stood up and watched helplessly as her friend fled the room, not knowing whether or not she should follow her. Megan usually didn't get like this, she knew, but this was like nothing either of them had ever faced before.

"I..." she said softly, words failing her for once. "Perhaps I should..."

Whatever she had meant to say, however, was interrupted by Frodo's words. Allison felt instantly touched by the Hobbit's courage and sincerity, and she offered him a tiny but kind smile. "Thank you."

She was about to get up to follow Megan when Lord Elrond sent Legolas after her instead. Allison glanced at the elf somewhat skeptically, feeling almost jealous. What did Elrond expect him to do? He barely even knew Megan, whereas Allison was her best friend. What could Legolas do to comfort her that Allison could not?

Still, maybe he had a point, and even if he was wrong, arguing would get them nowhere. She nodded to Legolas as he stood up to leave. "If you can't calm her down, come get me, please," she told him. "I can talk to her."

After Legolas left, she let out a sigh, putting her elbows on the table and resting her face in her hands. She had only been up for an hour this morning, and yet she already felt exhausted.

"Oh, and Arabella," Gandalf said, interrupting her musings by speaking for the first time. "You will have special training sessions with me, as well. I assume you know to what I am referring."

Allison's eyes widened in amazement, and she sat up straight. "Magic," she whispered.

-----------

It didn't take Legolas long to find Amara after she had fled, and he approached her with concern written in his eyes. "My lady?" he asked. "Are you all right? You needn't fear anything just yet. The Fellowship swore an oath to protect you. You must trust in us to see that through."

Megan made it out to the back garden and sat down on a bench, shaking her head. She swallowed hard and felt overcome by fear. She heard Legolas' voice and looked up to him sadly. "Lord Elrond picked the wrong person. I can't do this... I'm not strong enough and I'll fail you all." She cried to him, feeling even more weak than she had ever felt in all of her life.

She didn't know what she was even getting herself into, but it scared her to death. Swallowing hard, she covered her face with her hands, trying her hardest to calm down.

----------------

Frodo looked to Arabella, sensing that she felt a bit sad that Lord Elrond sent Legolas to get Amara instead of her. He understood the way that she felt, but knew that Elrond wouldn't have done it if it weren't for good reason.

He listened to Gandalf speak to Arabella and raised an eyebrow. "Magic? But, she's a Hobbit... We don't know magic." He said to Gandalf, sounding really confused. More so than he already was. He looked back to Arabella, as if she was hiding something now.

--------------

Lord Elrond stood up from his spot and bowed a bit to everyone. "If you'll excuse me, I have matters to attend to." He said to them softly and rested his hand on Gandalf's shoulder. "Start when you must." He said softly and then took his leave.

Allison gave a sad sort of smile, fear starting to creep in once again. "I know. But I'm not from your world, Frodo," she reminded him gently. "There are different rules where I come from." Yeah, like you can make up whatever you want in a story that you write just for fun and throw all continuity out the window, and you never once think that it'll actually happen...

"I'm not very good," she continued, looking down. "But what I can do might be useful. Shields, for protection, and..." Here she bit her lip, thinking. In her story, her healing powers were not revealed until just before the Fellowship entered Moria. Should she mention them now, or were things just going to unfold the same way she wrote them? She decided not to risk it. "And...a few other things. Nothing like what Gandalf can do." She sighed, glancing at Frodo again. "I'm sorry. I should have mentioned it sooner. But I can show you, if you like. All of you," she said, remembering that Gandalf and Aragorn were still in the room.

----------

He knelt down in front of Amara, trying to meet her eyes. "I know you're frightened, but Lord Elrond would not have said what he did if he did not believe in your abilities. I won't pretend that I fully understand your purpose here, and how Elrond learned of you and your friend. But I can assure you that it was for a reason. You will find that you are stronger than you know." He laid a gentle hand on her shoulder.

(I'm off to get ice cream with my family, not quite sure when I'll be back!)

[Alright! :)]

Megan heard Legolas speak words of wisdom to her and it came as a great comfort. But, she really just needed to relax for a bit. She needed food and to talk to her best friend Allison about what was going on and what needed to happen, before she started training. She slowly let her hands fall into her lap and looked into Legolas' eyes, swallowing hard. She felt her heart leap, when he placed his hand on her shoulder. She couldn't take her eyes off of his for what seemed like the longest time. "I appreciate your trust and confidence in me..." She said to him softly and then smiled a little, before wiping some of her stray tears away.

She knew that she had to rise up against this threat that was Mordor and all of its inhabitants. She took a deep breath and then nodded a bit, as if to reassure herself. "I will do all I can to protect the Fellowship." She said softly and then bit her lower lip, watching him more.

---------------

Frodo watched Lord Elrond take his leave from the room and then looked around to Aragorn, Gandalf and then Arabella. He listened to what she said, knowing that she was trying to make him feel better. He didn't think ill of her or anything of the sort, but it was just so strange to even think of a Hobbit lass with magical powers. He slowly nodded to what Arabella said and then got out of his chair. "Show us what you've got." He said softly.

--------------

Aragorn smiled a little to Arabella, knowing that she had a stout heart from the very beginning of this meeting. "Please... Do show us." He said softly and then got up from his seat as well, looking over to Gandalf kindly.

Okay. I can do this. I can do magic...apparently. So far, some of this has been keeping in continuity with my fanfic, so, in theory, my magic should work the same way as I wrote it, right? Her palms started to sweat as she stood up from her chair, wondering what to do. She had researched Elvish in order to find words for her incantations in her story, but what if it was incorrect? What if it didn't work here? Allison didn't want to imagine how they might react if she claimed she could perform magic and then found herself unable to do it.

She took a deep breath, trying to remember the tiniest details from her writing. In one chapter, she remembered, Merry and Pippin had been throwing rocks at her, because she found it was easier to produce a more powerful Shield when she was actually protecting herself from something. But she couldn't just ask one of them to attack her, could she?

An idea came to her. "Stand behind me, Frodo," she instructed. "It works better when...when I actually have something to protect."

Once ready, she took a deep, calming breath, trying to steady herself. Then she held her arms out in front of her, palms facing Gandalf and Aragorn. She drew her arms to the sides, almost as if she was drawing a circle in the air, before pushing them out in front of her again. "Berio ammen," she said, the incantation she had made up. Protect us.

Please, let this work!

It did.
