A smile broadened Thoril's face. Long had he been sorrowful, but now it seemed all he could do was smile. The stark change in the past few days surprised him. He hoped he would remain this way for a long time to come. Thoril took one hand and placed a kiss on the soft skin at the back of it. "You look beautiful as always, my love." He held out his arm for her to take as he walked to the front door.

She kept smiling softly, even as she took his arm and they left together. They walke through the streets. Callie's cheeks flushed a light pink at the way the other young women were looking at her. She guessed they hadn't gotten over it. But she didn't care. She was truly in in love, and happy to boot.

Thoril ignored the women completely. He had eyes for only one woman. One woman that was bound to be cold in the night air. He shrugged of his jacket and lay it over her shoulders as they walked through the streets. Thoril gazed up at the clear sky, to the stars beyond.

She pulled the coat around her with her free hand. "Thank you." she looked up at the stars as well. "I was afraid," she paused, emotion tightening her throat, "I was afraid that I would never be able to do this with you." in the weeks he had been gone, she had spent many nights outside, waiting, looking up at the stars.

Thoril remained silent for a few moments while he processed what she had said. He could only imagine the pain and worry he had caused her running off into battle with little hope of returning. Thoril had tried to write to her, but he could not trust that his letters would be delivered with all the chaos that surrounded them. "I am sorry to have made you feel that way Callie. I wanted to write to you, but as you can appreciate that was a difficult thing to do. Not to worry though, I am here now and that is where I shall stay." He settled his arm around her shoulder as though to confirm his conviction.

"I do not blame you, at all." she said softly and put her arm around his waist as they walked. "It just made me realize how much I really do love you." she hugged him tighter. "I know there was nothing you could've done to prevent having to go."

"I love you too Callie. I hope you know there is nothing I would not do for you either." He suddenly became aware of the stares pointed in his direction. Although the streets were nearly empty, he could sense the flicker of curtains and the eyes that pierced through their windows. "Shall we go for a drink?" He offered, hoping beyond hope the inn was quiet this night.

"Yes, that would be nice." she Hughes him closer as they walked, refusing to give him up now that she had him back. She was oblivious to anything else besides him.

Thoril steered her towards the inn. He untangled himself from her to open the door for her. "After you my lady," he said with a bow of his head. He could hear the gasps of surprise and whispers erupting inside. He rolled his eyes slightly, before raising his head to the towns people. He flashed them a smile before resting his eyes upon the woman he loves.

Callie smiled at him and stepped inside, and instantly felt eyes not on her, but on him. "Why are they staring at you." she leaned towards him and whispere very softly.

"For my actions in Gondor I was knighted. I guess they do not know how to accept me." Thoril whispered, shrugging his shoulders. He nodded to the barman as he walked to a table in the back of the room. The barman sent over some complimentary drinks. Thoril again nodded to him, this time in thank you. The barman simply smiled to him.

Her eyes widened. How had she not hear of this? "You...you..." she gulped, staring at him with a mixture of love and admiratiosje leaned forward, smiling quirkily. "That'll show those twins." she whispered and placed a quick kiss on his cheek.

"I am still getting used to the sound of it really. I did nothing special. I only did what I had to and what any normal person would have done in my shoes..." He said in answer to her first question. He swallowed hard at her next statement. "It certainly would. Travon died, Callie." His hands trembled slightly. "I just could not get to him in time..." He frowned deeply, clearly ashamed of himself.

Her face fell. "I'm so sorry." she whispered and laid her hand on his arm. "Love, it is not your fault, do not blame yourself." she squeezed his arm, not knowing what else to say to him.

"I know," he lied. "I just wish there had been something I could have done. Still..." He straightened with a sigh. "There is nothing I can do about it now. I guess I can take comfort in the fact that the brothers are together again," he shrugged his shoulders. "Causing havoc with the angels," he snickered and moved to change the subject. "Would you like something to eat? Or perhaps another drink?" He asked softly, gazing into her eyes.

"Another drink would be nice, thank you." she gave him a small smile. "So. Who is on the guest list and when do I get to meet your mother?" she asked, glad to change the subject.
