(Sounds good to me, Mrs. Official Co-Moderator! ;D BTW... I hope that you don't mind, but I kinda had to play a small role of Legolas in my post, because I wouldn't have really been able to do certain things without his action.)

Amara stayed on the ground for a couple of seconds, with wide eyes. She was definitely still in shock, by the time that Legolas had arrived by her side. She swallowed hard and finally got her breathing back in order, before sitting up in her spot. "I'm fine, my love. Go and help the others. I'm coming." She said softly and then got up onto her feet, getting her bow and arrow prepared. She knew that this was going to be a long day and it probably wouldn't get any better.

Looking ahead, she saw that the poor boy that she had saved earlier was getting left behind, due to his disability. "Child, follow me! Get a horse and stay as close to me as possible!" She called out for him and then whistled for her horse, getting up onto it quickly. She needed to help everyone that was fighting with the Orcs and Wargs.

Theoden and his men were in the midst of battle and it seemed as though more and more of the enemy were coming. "CHARGE!!" He yelled loudly and pointed his sword up to the sky. The Rohirrim and Warg riders crashed head on and the battle began. Théoden and his company hacked away at the Warg riders, instantly. In the midst of fighting, Gimli had fallen off of Arod. And just as he had stood up, he turned to find a Warg growling at him. "Bring your pretty face to my axe!" He yelled to the Warg. The Warg got angry at him and leaped in for the kill. Just as the Warg did so, he watched as Legolas' arrow pierced it and killed it with one shot. He jumped back as the Warg fell, outraged. "Argh! That one counts as mine!" He yelled at Legolas and then swung his axe at another Warg, it died and fell onto the poor Dwarf, pinning him under. "Argh! Stinking creature. Argh!" He groaned in pain. As he tried to lift the Warg off him, an Orc leaned over them both. Gimli killed him quickly, twisting his neck, and it landed on him also. Gimli sniffed at the Orc and made a face. He tried to lift both the Warg and Orc off of him, but to no avail. Just then, another Warg came upon him and bared its teeth, ready to strike. Gimli's eyes widened as he said "Ooh..!" Aragorn plucked a spear as he passed on horseback and threw it at the Warg. It died, also landing on Gimli and adding to the pile on top of him. As soon as the Warg landed on him, he gave out an "Oomph!!"

Théoden stabbed at a random Warg rider, while Aragorn was knocked off Hasufel and attacked by Sharku -- An Orc. Aragorn tried to kill the Warg rider, but Sharku blocked his attempt and grabbed Aragorn by the neck, while the latter was half-dragged by the Warg. In the struggle, Sharku was thrown off and he ripped the Evenstar pendant from Aragorn’s neck as he fell. Aragorn tried to let go of the Warg, but found that his wrist was tangled with the saddle straps. He tried unsuccessfully to untangle himself and was dragged closer and closer to the edge of a cliff at great speed. The Warg ran right off the cliff and they both disappeared over the edge.

The battle was starting to wind down, as the Rohirrim finished off the last few Wargs and Orcs. Amara had blood all over her sword and some on her face, while she panted and looked around frantically. "Aragorn!" She yelled out, not being able to see him around. "Aragorn?" Gimli added after Amara, while she stayed close to Legolas. They all came near to the cliff that Aragorn had fallen off of and heard Sharku wheezing and laughing, with blood in his mouth. Gimli stood over the dying Orc, angrily. "Tell me what happened and I will ease your passing." He hissed. "He’s *cough* dead." He then laughed evilly. "Took a little tumble off the cliff." He added.

I agree with Arabella. :) I don't mind taking a break. It will give me some time to think of actual...ideas for Calio. :P She's a bit of a shallow character right now.

(No problem, Amara! I don't mind it from time to time, if for the sake of the story you have to control characters you don't ordinarily play. :) )

Eventually, it was over. The field lay strewn with the dead and wounded, the smell of death hung heavy in the air, and Aragorn was nowhere to be found. Legolas, Amara, and Gimli called his name in vain, while Legolas noticed the lad that Amara had saved remained nearby, either reluctant or unable to leave and follow the others. He can hardly walk. Why did they decide to let him leave Edoras? He is a danger to himself and to others, if he gets too far behind and hinders the rest of the group. But perhaps he was on horseback before...at least King Theoden wanted to give all of his people a fighting chance before he led them to their potential doom at Helm's Deep.

When the dying orc proclaimed Estel to be dead, something snapped in Legolas, sharp as a bowstring. He lunged forward, grabbing the orc to bring him closer. "You lie," he hissed, but before the orc could respond he gasped for breath, and whatever light there had once been in his eyes vanished as he died. Legolas let him sink back to the ground, disgusted, not wanting to believe his vile words. Then, he noticed a glimmer out of the corner of his eye, and looked down to see the Evenstar pendant, gifted to Aragorn by Lady Arwen, laying in the orc's cold hand. Gingerly, he took it, looking down at it for a moment before his gaze lifted to the sheer cliffs before them. "Estel would not have surrendered such a treasure without a fight, so dear as it was to him," he murmured. He paused a moment before leaping to his feet, rushing to the last spot he had seen his friend.

King Theoden stood there already, gazing down at the swift-moving water below them, but Legolas' sharp eyes could detect no sign of Estel, nor of any other living thing. He held the necklace tighter. "Mellon nin..." he whispered.

"Get the wounded on horses," Theoden called to someone behind them, as Legolas, Gimli, and Amara still watched the water, ever hopeful. "The wolves of Isengard will return. Leave the dead."

Legolas turned to glare at the King, hardly believing his own ears. "Can you not spare a few moments to honor your dead, who died defending your people? Are they to be forgotten along with the Wargs who lay on this field?!"

Colin jumped onto a small pony. Well, not really jumped. It was more of a stumble, then a hop, then a fall, then another scramble in getting to his feet, then another stumble, and yet another hop, this time actually landing on the horse. That took a lot of work. He hoisted his crutches up with him, and 'rode' the horse over to the elf's side. Colin looked around, seeing and hearing the sounds of battle everywhere. Since his close encounter with a Warg, he wasn't in a hurry to let himself come near another one.

And then, just like that, it was done.

The Wargs had fled, or had been killed by King Theoden's men. And Colin knew he was still a coward. He had to be rescued by this elf (who was actually very pretty), all because of his stupid disability. His legs. He had been attacked by Uruk-Hai just a year ago. Colin had been exploring the countryside with his cousin, when three Uruk-Hai had jumped out, surprising them both. His cousin had died that day. But Colin had survived, and his aunt had blamed him for his cousin's death. Colin had been shunned, much to his shame. He had taken to sitting inside, ignoring company around him. But they had ignored him first, so Colin felt like he was only returning the favor.

But that was when Colin felt the most free. Without any responsibilities, without any pressure put upon him he could think. And Colin thought about everything! Everything that he knew about middle-Earth and Rohan, which, truthfully, wasn't that much. And Colin sang.

Don't laugh.

Before his injury, he had sang for others. The whole village had talked about him and his voice, which they said was almost like an elf's. But they didn't really know of such things like that. And after, Colin just sang to himself. He sang to himself, singing about everything. And maybe some people, if he was in a bad mood.

In a flash, Colin snapped back to the present. The elf was saying something. "Sorry, what? What did you say?"

(Awesome! Thanks, Arabella. And I'm glad that you're okay with that, Dream. Good post, Harthad! :D)

Amara felt tears reach her eyes, as she stared down to the river below the cliff where Aragorn had fallen. He couldn't be gone. She swallowed hard and then got down on one of her knees, closing her eyes to say a prayer. She wouldn't know what to do if that had happened to Legolas. She would be beside herself.

Once she finished her prayer, she stood up again and then looked over to the young boy that she had saved. She smiled weakly to him and then wiped some of her tears away, as Legolas drilled into King Theoden about not mourning for the loss of his people. She took a shaky breath and stood beside the boy and his pony. "What is your name?" She asked him softly and then realized that he wasn't even paying attention. She saw him snap back to reality, seeming as though he was thinking back on something, and then heard him speak. "I said what is your name." She asked him softly.

After a while of relaxing in their spot, they all decided that they needed to start making way for Helms Deep. It wasn't that far from them, anyway.

The Rohan villagers were drawing close to Helm’s Deep. Cries of relief were heard, as the refuge was within sight. "Helm’s Deep! At last! There it is!" One of the refugees shouted loudly. Then, an old woman walked up to Eowyn and smiled excitedly, pointing to the refuge. "We’re safe, my lady! Thank you!" She exclaimed. Éowyn embraced the woman and they walked on towards Helm’s Deep. The gate was then opened for the villagers. Many had already taken refuge within and were resting along the passage. Éothain and Freda ran towards their mother, joining in a reunion. The three of them hugged and cried with joy.

Théoden and company finally returned from the battle with the Warg riders. "Make way for Théoden!" Gamling shouted to the people around them. Éowyn rushed down to meet them. She looked around and then sighed deeply. "So few. So few of you have returned." She said to Theoden softly, feeling pain in her heart for the fallen. Theoden then dismounted from his horse and looked to her. "Our people are safe. We have paid for it with many lives." He told her in an answer to what she had mentioned. Gimli then walked up to Éowyn, solemnly. "My lady..." He mumbled. Eowyn then looked around some more, before looking down to Gimli. "Lord Aragorn, where is he?" She asked the Dwarf softly and then hoped that she would get a good answer from him. "He fell..." Gimli said sadly to her. Éowyn was shaken and raised teary eyes to Théoden. The latter looked down and then walked away, confirming her unasked question. Amara got off of her horse slowly and then sat down on the stairs sadly, staring down at her feet. She didn't know what to do anymore.

Legolas placed an arm gently on Amara's shoulder, trying to comfort her as best he could through his own anger and grief. Their Fellowship was disappearing all around them, and he felt powerless to stop it. First Mithrandir, then the five Hobbits...the thought of the additional loss of Estel seemed to impossible to be real, too tragic to ever truly overcome. He had been their leader, the one they had looked to for guidance and strength in Gandalf's absence.

There were only three of them left now. How would they go on?

Legolas did not join in the cries of relief that rose up as the refugees reached Helm's Deep. For him, this stronghold was less a refuge than it was a prison, or potentially a tomb. What chilled his heart even more was the air of grief that still hung heavily in the air, poisoning any hope that the citizens of Rohan tried so desperately to cling to. He had to turn away from Eowyn's face when he saw the grief in her eyes, after Gimli told her what had happened in the battle. He followed Amara and sat down next to her, silent for a moment before turning and wrapping his arms around her. "I love you," he whispered, but he knew his words would be only a small consolation to her, if any at all.

"I'm Colin." he answered. "And--and you?" He kept stuttering horribly in front of this elf. He didn't want to, but something about her made him tongue-tied.

They reached Helm's Deep a little while later. Colin was amazed at the hugeness of it all. But if he didn't know better, he would have said that everyone was in a gloomy mood. Especially the two elves.

Despite Legolas' thoughts, Amara actually really felt a vast amount of consolation coming from his words. She slowly looked up to him and then smiled lovingly to him, resting her hand on his cheek. "Amin mella lle." She told him back softly and then kissed him lightly on the lips. She stayed close to him and then cuddled against his warm chest, closing her eyes. She needed to just relax. This whole journey had worn her out.

She wished that Arabella were still with her. She missed her a lot.

After a while of just relaxing, there was a commotion at the gate. Amara raised an eyebrow and then stood up, getting out of Legolas' arms gently. She took his hand and then helped him up, looking to what was getting the refugees all riled up. Just then, Amara saw something that she, at first, thought was a dream. IT was Aragorn. He was riding into Helm’s Deep to the amazement of all, on top of Brego. "He’s alive!" Amara exclaimed. Gimli then started pushing his way through the crowd. " Where is he? Where is he? Get out of the way. I’m gonna kill him!" He said and then saw Aragorn. "You are the luckiest, the canniest and the most reckless man I ever knew! Bless you, laddie!" He said happily to Aragorn and then hugged him tightly.

"Gimli, where is the king?" Aragorn asked the Dwarf softly. Gimli then gestured to the hall. As he started to makes his way in, he ran into Legolas and Amara, who were standing and waiting for him. Amara looked over Aragorn's tired and worn face and then smiled widely to him, before throwing her arms around him. "Thank the Valar, you're okay!" She exclaimed. She thought of Aragorn as her older brother. They were both protective of each other -- It was their job. Aragorn laughed a bit and then looked to Legolas.

It was now his turn to speak.

(Sorry, that I didn't really respond to Colin's question to Amara, Harthad. I just couldn't really find a section to put it in my post. Haha. Let's just pretend that she said her name to him! :D)

Legolas blinked in disbelief, feeling as though a ghost had just appeared before him. Could it really be his friend of old? Or was it just wishful thinking, a cruel trick of his imagination? Seeing Aragorn embrace Gimli, though, Legolas found himself grinning. He was alive--truly alive--and had come back to them.

There was still hope, for now.

He smiled as Amara embraced Aragorn, knowing of the special relationship between the two of them. When Estel turned to him, Legolas looked him over, raising one eyebrow. "You're late," he told him teasingly, in Elvish. Then, as he took in more of Aragorn's haggard appearance, his smile faded and he grew more serious. "You look terrible." Estel looked as though he had not slept in a week, his body covered here and there with small wounds and dried blood. He was alive, all right, but it looked as though he had been forced to endur much in order to return to them.

Then, Legolas remembered that he still had the pendant given to Aragorn by his love, and he held it out to him with a smile. Aragorn took it gratefully, clapping Legolas on the shoulder. "Hannon le," he said softly, gazing at the pendant for a moment. Then, he looked back at the two of them. "Come with me," he said. "I must speak with the King."

Amara. That was her name. Pretty. Oh, stop it Colin, you can't chase after an elf! You're crippled, and she's immortal, and an elf, and pretty. . .oh, stop it. Colin watched them from a short ways away, not really sure what to do. He wanted to follow them to the king, but wasn't sure if he was allowed to. Hoisting up his crutch, Colin walked off in the opposite direction.

Once Amara finished hugging Aragorn, she turned around and watched as he and Legolas spoke to each other. She knew that their friendship was a unique one, indeed. She smiled to them and hten heard that Aragorn needed to speak to the King. It sounded urgent. She raised an eyebrow and then nodded to him once, following alongside him and Legolas to go inside.

Once inside the keep, Aragorn started to confer with Théoden. "A great host, you say?" The King asked Aragorn softly. "All Isengard is emptied." Aragorn said, solemnly. "How many?" Theoden asked, almost sounding worried at this point. "Ten thousand strong at least." Aragorn answered. He didn't like his reply, but it had to be said. For the sake of all of their lives. "Ten thousand?!" Theoden exclaimed with wide eyes full of fear. Aragorn sighed and nodded to validate the horror that was yet to arrive. "It is an army bred for a single purpose: to destroy the world of men. They will be here by nightfall." He told it simply and straight to the point. He didn't need to beat around the bush for this topic. "Let them come!" Theoden said upset, as he walked away resolutely. Amara stood there in shock, that the King would act so rashly.

As he went outside, he went along the passage behind the Deeping Wall. He walked over to Gamling and looked out into the distance, before looking to the man. "I want every man and strong lad able to bear arms to be ready for battle by nightfall." He said to his man in charge. His good friend. Gamling nodded and then went off. Théoden stood at the gate of Helm’s Deep, then Aragorn, Legolas, Amara and Gimli walked over to him and stood beside him. "We will cover the causeway and the gate from above. No army has ever breached the Deeping Wall or set foot inside the Hornburg." Theoden explained to the company of four, who looked worried of the King's plan. "This is no rabble of mindless Orcs. These are Uruk-hai. Their armor is thick and their shields broad." Gimli threw in to the King, to let him know what he was up against. "I have fought many wars, Master Dwarf. I know how to defend my own keep." Theoden said a bit angered, as he looked down to Gimli. Gimli seemed miffed by what the King had said, though. Amara clasped a hand on Gimli’s shoulder as she followed Aragorn, Legolas and Théoden back inside.

"They will break upon this fortress like water on rock. Saruman’s hordes will pillage and burn, we’ve seen it before. Crops can be resown; homes rebuilt. Within these walls, we will outlast them." Theoden said to Aragorn, as he walked back inside of the keep.
Aragorn sighed out of agitation from the King's words. "They do not come to destroy Rohan’s crops or villages. They come to destroy its people. Down to the last child." Aragorn argued with him, as they finally made it inside and stopped in a hall. Theoden then drew close to Aragorn. "What would you have me do? Look at my men. Their courage hangs by a thread. If this is to be our end, then I would have them make such an end as to be worthy of remembrance." Theoden spat at Aragorn quietly, so that no one else would hear him; besides the five of them. Aragorn stared at the King, as he was spoken to. But, there had to be another way. He knew it. "Send out riders, my lord. You must call for aid." He said, trying to think up a new solution. "And who will come? Elves? Dwarves? We are not so lucky in our friends as you. The old alliances are dead." The King said bitterly and then looked away.
"Gondor will answer." Aragorn replied instantly. "Gondor? Where was Gondor when the Westfold fell? Where was Gondor when our enemies closed in around us? Where was Gon…" Theoden stopped himself, before he got too mad at where this was going. "No, my lord Aragorn, we are alone." He added and then walked away, starting to call out orders. "Get the women and children into the caves." He shouted to the guards. "We need more time to lay provisions for a siege, lord –" Gamling started to explain, but Theoden cut him off. "There is no time. War is upon us!" He exclaimed. Then, a Rohan soldier said to the rest of the soldiers, "Secure the gate!" Men rushed to prepare for battle, as flocks of carrion crows circled overhead.

Amara hurried outside, after hearing noises with her heightened hearing and then looked up to the sky. She swallowed hard and then took a shaky breath. This was it.

Legolas shot the King an icy glare, wishing that the man would see reason. He was too stubborn to call for help, and far too stubborn still to admit that he might be wrong. What sort of ruler was this for the country of Rohan? They looked to him now for strength, but he was far too weak to give it to them, and probably had been for some time. He shook his head, sighing. "This will end in tragedy," he whispered to Amara. "Tragedy beyond measure, and possibly the end to the kingdom of Rohan, if Theoden does not come to his senses soon. Perhaps even the doom of all Men," he added quietly.

A group of women passed them as the Hunters made their way to the armory to prepare for battle. Some of them wept openly, others tried to put on brave faces as they left their husbands and sons behind to fight. Legolas looked to Amara. "I would have you join the women and children in the caves, to keep you safe," he told her quietly. "I would have you stay with Lady Eowyn, for she would look after you and I could see the two of you becoming friends. I know you miss Arabella." He looked at her sadly for a few moments before breaking out into a grin. "But, I am not nearly that stupid to believe that you would willingly go into the caves when you actually wanted to fight alongside me. I know you and your courage far too well, my Amara. So I leave that choice up to you."

In the armory, Legolas and Aragorn cast skeptical looks among the men and boys of Rohan who had been called to fight. "Farmers, farriers, stableboys..." Aragorn mused. "These are no soldiers."

"Most have seen too many winters!" Gimli said as an old man passed them. Legolas nodded, his eyes alighting upon a boy who could not have been more than ten years old--young even by the standards of Men, but an infant in the eyes of an Elf. "Or too few," he agreed. He cast another despairing gaze around the room, the faces of the Rohirrim those of people who were quickly losing whatever strength they had managed to cling to all this way. He felt his own resolve start to break, as well. "Look at them. They're frightened. You can see it in their eyes."

Suddenly, the room became deathly quiet, more like a tomb than an armory. Legolas turned around, noting the effect his words had had on the already hopeless people of Rohan, and switched to Elvish to convey the rest of his thoughts. "And they should be," he went on, in words he knew only Estel and Amara would comprehend. "Three hundred against ten thousand?"

Estel, once again, tried to remain optimistic, but Legolas could sense that even he was finding it difficult to do so. "They have a better chance defending themselves here than in Edoras."

Legolas' patience was quickly wearing thin. "Aragorn, they cannot win this fight. They are all going to die!" he said, his temper rising along with his voice.

(Hey, Harthad, if you wanted Colin to be in the armory right now too, that would be cool. I feel bad that he isn't doing much right now.)

[Sorry about jumping in on my post, Harthad. But, it's been almost a week and I wanted to keep the RPG going. D:]

After getting a look of her surroundings, Amara swallowed hard. She thought of what Legolas had wanted her to do, instead of fight. She knew that he just mentioned it because he wanted to protect her. But, it made her a little mad that he didn't have as much faith in her than she would've hoped. She slowly walked back into the hall and headed for the armory, where she knew that had moved on to.

She stopped dead in her tracks, when she heard what Legolas was saying to Aragorn in Elvish. Her eyes widened in surprise and she felt like she couldn't move. Almost like... She was getting weak. Was this really happening? Or was it just her imagination? "Legolas... Tampa!" She exclaimed in Elvish to him and then took a step back, trying to gain her balance. She took a shaky breath and then looked around at all of the people that were staring at her.

Feeling her eyes well up in tears, she looked back to Legolas sadly. "Have you lost all hope in me? In the Fellowship? Gandalf and Elrond understood what they were doing. They knew the consequences and what lie ahead. Did you not?" She asked him, hurt. "I will die, if it means that the Ring gets destroyed." She said upset and then left the room, hurrying out of the hall. She had never been this: confused, upset and hurt. She missed Arabella, Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin. She hoped to the Valar that they were safe.

Aragorn stared at Amara, as she ran off and then looked to Legolas while shaking his head. "We will die as one of these men!" He exclaimed and then hurried after Amara. Gimli sighed and put a hand on Legolas. "Let them go, lad. Let them be." He said softly. In the hall, Gamling stood beside his King. "Every villager able to wield a sword has been sent to the armory. My lord?" He said softly. "Who am I, Gamling?" Theoden said to Gamling, staring off into the distance in a daze. "You are our king, sire." Gamling replied simply. "And do you trust your king?" Theoden replied to Gamling and then swallowed hard, not taking his eyes off of the spot he had been staring at. Gamling then put armor onto King Théoden's body. "Your men, my lord, will follow you to whatever end." He answered honorably.

The villagers were handed their weapons. An over-sized helmet was placed on a wide-eyed boy, while another stared at the axe that he was handed with frightened eyes. Another child wearing over-sized chain mail takes up a huge shield. Théoden stood inside the main hall of the keep, his back to the entrance where a bright white light was streaming through. "To whatever end… Where is the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing? They have passed like rain on the mountains. Like wind in the meadow. The days have gone down in the west. Behind the hills, into shadow. How did it come to this?" Theoden managed to get out.

(It's fine, I haven't been very active lately.)

Colin pushed his way through the crowd, trying to get to the elves. Men looked down at him, while he was jostled all around. Tripping over someone's leg, he fell to the ground and heard faint snickers from the people above him. Pushing himself to his feet and grabbing one of his crutches, Colin found himself face to face with a rough-faced man, one with an unkempt beard. He growled at Colin, speaking words for him and him alone: "Go. Get out of here, cripple. You can't fight, so what are you doing here?! Scram!"

Some others joined in, calling taunts at the boy until he limped his way to the door. Casting a glance back, he couldn't even see the elves for the mass of people. Colin limped his way out and found himself in the middle of a great stone hallway, which was bare except for a few others walking to and fro. He limped down, muttering to himself.

"I would fight, if I could."

"But I can't, so I can't do anything."

"You don't have to fight, to help."

"Well, it seems that's what I have to do."

"What about singing?"

"Don't be silly, I can't sing in here."

"You sang everywhere before."

"Well, not here! Here, is Helm's Deep, just before all the Uruk-Hai come. People wont like it."

"But--"

"No, I'm not going to! Shut up!"

Colin stopped walking for a moment.

"And when did I start talking to myself?!"

Something within Amara seemed to crumble away as Legolas watched, and he almost saw her lose her balance. He rushed forward, attempting to help steady her, but it seemed she would not have it. His eyes widened at her questions, and he found himself unable to truthfully answer her. For she was right, of course--Legolas had been a fool if he had gone into this thinking that they could achieve victory without sacrifice, win one thing without losing something else. Yes, he had known that all along, he wanted to tell her, but he could not grasp the words he needed. "Of course I still have hope in you..." he began, but in the blink of an eye she was gone, storming out of the armory with Estel not too far behind her. Legolas was left staring at the both of them, at a loss for words.

He sighed deeply after Gimli spoke. "Easier said than done, my friend," he said softly. "I must go after them. Someone very wise once told me that a woman should never be left alone with her thoughts. Amara is angry, as is Aragorn, and I need to find a way to make things right." He sighed again and shook his head before following them out the door.

He wandered around for a few moments without seeing either of them, and wondered where they might have gone. Were they together, or had they gone their separate ways? They considered each other to be like siblings, and they both felt the same way about what had just happened, but Legolas wondered whether each had decided it was better to be alone than to try to talk it out with the other person. Both of those two could be so hard to read sometimes, similarly stubborn as they were...

His eyes fell upon the crippled boy Amara had rescued during the Warg attack, the one that had seemed to become attached to her. His eyes narrowed for a moment, but he soon came to the realization that the lad might have an idea as to where Amara might be. "You, boy!" he called, trying to remember the child's name. "Colin! Did you see Amara or Aragorn pass this way?"

As Amara had hurried out of the armory, she felt herself breathing heavily. She was out of breath already? She hadn't even done anything. She swallowed hard and then heard footsteps behind her, so she looked over her shoulder seeing Aragorn. He knew that something was wrong, so he wrapped one of his arms around her waist and then made her arm go over his shoulders. "What's the matter, Amara?" He asked her softly, still fuming a bit from the conversation. Amara shook her head and looked forward. "I... I don't know." She whispered.

On the way out of the armory, she saw Colin standing alone in the hall. She bit her lower lip and made Aragorn stop walking with her for a bit. "Colin, please stay in here if you can... I don't want to see you hurt." She said softly to him and then Aragorn urged her onward. She took a shaky breath and then walked carefully outside. Once there, Aragorn turned to face Amara and rested his hands on her arms. "I need some time to think about things. Be careful and do not do anything rash." He spoke to her and then left, going to be alone.

Amara stared after Aragorn and then took a deep breath, carefully walking over to some stairs nearby. She plopped herself down on them and then looked down to the ground, holding her head up with her hands. Her heart was heavy and her body felt weak. How was she going to fight in this condition? It just happened so suddenly. It happened exactly when she heard Legolas' words of faithlessness. If he didn't have faith, would she die?
