No, no. I think our two hosts should theorize too. Clarissa Riordan's profile says she loves reading(though mainly about actors) and views herself as a well rounded person. Maybe she was trying to be even more rounded by reading Harry Potter and Twilight. I'm not sure what the 13 would have to do with anything though.

Hahaha. Eä, if you are ever proven right that will break for Sparkle's sparkly heart. I still think that the two books at the scene corresponding to books that the victims didn't like is important; I just don't know how. However, your plan sounds as good as any so maybe I'll go with that. I'll look over things more and see.

[Hey guys.. I haven't looked into the clues or red herrings yet, so therefore I vote for the person that the majority votes for. I just can't accuse anyone just yet.. ]

I feel as though the Headless Horseman might just be an innocent bystander in all this...he just gets scapegoated because the poor fellow doesn't have a head. XD Taunaki Piramln arrived rather late to the discovery of Alariya's death...suspiciously late, if you ask me. That's all I will say for now. Other than that, I have no theories I can offer...

*takes a deep breath*
Okay, so usually in my analyses of the potential murderer I look at every little detail given. So for Anne Boleyn's and Alariya's death these are potential clues or red herrings: - Time of Death: 2:30 AM (in the past the time of death were a clue as it was similar to the joining date or amount of posts or other numbers in someone's signature) - Cause of death: smothered - Murder weapon: a ball of yarn - Place: near the Tropical Fountain in the Lounge - Additional clues: Murderer attacked from behind, “Twilight” by Stephanie Meyer, opened to Chapter 13, which was titled “Confessions”
- Time of Death: 7:30 AM - Cause of death: smothering - Murder weapon: luncheon napkin with trees drawn on it - Place: Lounge car - Additional clues: Taur quote: "Alariya would be (quoth the raven) nevermore", murderer attacked from behind, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix opened to Chapter 13, which titled "The Hearing"
- Sooo.. the first strange thing: I haven't got my copy of HP OftP with me but I checked wiki and chapter 13 is not called "the Hearing" (which in fact was chapter 8), instead chapter 13 was called: Detention with Dolores. So that for one is a strange thing. I think that either the number 13 or the combination of Confessions and Hearing has a special meaning. - Then there's the smothering thing, as already mentioned, which indicates that the killer might not enjoy messy murders.
- I do not believe that the titles of the books are a clue, many times before the clue was related to Twilight, but I believe it never was an actual clue, but a red herring, as so many people disliked Twilight. I do think that the trees drawn on the napkin and the fountain where Anne was murdered are potential clues of something.
So this is my theory. Anne Boleyn is the killer. -The titles of chapters in the books (Confession and Hearing) refers to the downfall of Anne Boleyn. An overheard confession of Anne was one of the causes that she was accused of incest and adultery and several 'hearings' and a trial followed, eventually leading to her execution. - Anne herself said to be 'happy' with her clean murder, compared to what happened to her execution. It can be concluded that Anne dislikes the messy murders which occured during Henry VIII's reign. That explains the 'clean' murders. - The trees are indeed an important clue and as Anne Boleyn's real username is Goldleaf, the trees refer to her usual username. - The murderweapon for one death is a ball of yarn, and Anne Boleyn likes knitting and sewing. - The location of Anne's death was near the fountain, which refers to the water in Anne Boleyn's avatar. - Taur's remark that "Alariya would be (quoth the raven) nevermore" is also of great importance. It's a quote from a poem of Edgar Allen poe, which tells the story of a talking raven's mysterious visit to a distraught lover, tracing the man's slow descent into madness. The lover is lamenting the loss of his love, Lenore. [wiki] Even so, the narrator pulls his chair directly in front of the raven, determined to learn more about it. He thinks for a moment, not saying anything, but his mind wanders back to his lost Lenore. He thinks the air grows denser and feels the presence of angels. Confused by the association of the angels with the bird, the narrator becomes angry, calling the raven a "thing of evil" and a "prophet". As he yells at the raven it only responds, "Nevermore". The raven and the angels are clearly symbolized in Anne Boleyn's signature.
Therefore my final conclusion is that Anne killed herself and then Alariya. To answer the obvious question why the killer would first kill herself and then others, is that it's a phenomenon that has never yet occured during the Hallowfest and to be honest, it's quite brilliant.
I hereby rest my case.

Haha, I have been accused! XD
I like Sparkle's theory a lot, but I'm confused as to these 'guesses'...what happens after we guess twice? Are we out of the game, or just out of trying to guess who it is?

Wow. That is very impressive Sparkle. But why would she have smothered herself with a ball of yarn? Surely there are nicer ways to go. However, since I like your thought process a whole lot better than mine, I will change my vote to Anne as well.

I believe, but please correct me if I'm wrong, that next week, at the end of the event, a second guess can be made. So it doesn't matter if we guess right or wrong, the event ends then anyway. Just add the person who you want to accuse: My vote goes to: Anne Boleyn: 2 Edit: Another vote for Anne! Like I said, it's perhaps a trick to make us believe that those who are death can't be the killer anymore.. And it's the Hallowfest! People are smothered by napkins, so everything is possible!

Besides the fact that I always accuse the Headless Horseman at some point during the guessing sessions, another tradition that usually occurs around this time in the Hallowfest events is that I stubbornly hold on to my theory that there are two murderers - and that they might work independently without any knowledge of one another. I love Sparkle's detective work though, you're always so prepared and pay attention to detail, it's almost scary! ETA: Also, even though Hallowfest is everything but based on the rules of logic it would still be difficult for a ghost to commit murder.. unless she had a living partner in crime...

I also vote for Anne. It would be awesome if she had actually been a ghost all along, wouldn't it? Not that it's very likely, but it would make a bit more sense than her killing herself before going on the rest of her murdering rampage...but if that's the case, I don't know how to account for the body of Anne that was found. I'll stop spouting off randomness now and just say that I officially guess Anne Boleyn is the killer. XD
Great job to Sparkle for catching that error with the OotP chapter! I thought that it wasn't quite right--Order of the Phoenix is famously the longest Harry Potter book, I believe--and I knew that the hearing took place earlier in the novel, but it wasn't until I looked in my roommate's edition of the book that I realized that chapter 13 is actually the Detention with Delores Chapter...although, that may just be for the American edition. I don't know whether an American or British version or other international edition of the book would be in a train bound for Monte Carlo, but the British version might be different in terms of page numbers and chapter locations...just something to think about.
