Thanks! My biggest hope for this forum is to talk to other people about Tolkien - none of my friends or family wantto talk about it anymore!

Ha ha ha! Oh! I know the feeling! I go on and on about Tolkien and Middle-earth so much that no one wants to listen!!! To motivate my little sister to do her Latin, I told her that Tolkien based part of his Elvish language on it, and she said she didn't care! Careless little thing!

Hi, to all here from Nar-Rana (Redwanderer)
I am a Tolkien fan since the earlier 1980th! I have read all books, from LotR , Hobbit, Silmarillion, etc. Have seen the first animated film from 1978 or so with the musik from Bo Hansen a swedish composer!
The films from Jackson Lotr 1-3 are great and meets my imaginations that I get from the books. Now I want to share my experiences and thoughts with others who are deeply engaged with the Tolkiens work.

Hope to find many interesting fans here!

I'm reading the Silmarillion now, and I'm really enjoying it! Doesn't Rana mean "moon" as well as "wanderer"? (My real name is Rana, and I'm not entirely sure what it means....)

The films were amazing!!! Are you excited that the Hobbit will be coming out? Do you think they'll be as wonderful and epic as LotR? Or are you afraid they'll use all the high-tech, new gadgets and stuff? I trust Jackson, and am sure he'll do an amazing job!

And I would love to learn more about the books!

Hello there, Nar-Rana! I see that you are from Germany--I myself took German for four years in high school and am now taking it here at university (but I still feel like I can't speak it very well!)

What do you think of the 1978 animated version of LotR. You mentioned you've seen it. I think it's a little ridiculous...great for the time it was made in, but it's so silly I can't help but laugh at things like the Ringwraiths, and Boromir's Viking hat...

I love "The Road Goes Ever On" as well! I love the song version that appears in the LotR stage musical that premiered a few years ago in London, even if it does have different lyrics than the books.

Anyway, nice to meet you! I am usually known as Arabella Baggins, despite the fact that my username is different right now--I changed it temporarily for a Halloween event that we're having here on the site.
