Thanks, Eru! I'll try to make this sound not-so-convoluted. I haven't gotten all the details worked out yet; there's a lot of loopholes I didn't realize were there at first....

The main character, Hayley Poplawski, is killed in a car accident. She gets a bit of a nasty shock when she wakes up and finds out that she's been raised as an undead by the Roman goddess of funerals, Libitina. (And she doesn't want to eat brains! She's like a vegan zombie!) She's intended to be Libitina's "daughter" and helper.

While Libitina was working on reanimating Hayley (she's way ahead of Dr. Frankenstein), however, Hades, who rules over the Underworld, wasn't too happy. He winds up making a deal with Libitina (what this deal is exactly keeps changing, and it needs to stop. D8 ) concerning Hayley.

Hayley's job is to lead dead souls to the Underworld, who always have to go through Libby first. So she shunts Hayley back up into the living world to go find them. She runs into Courtney and Sean, her unnamed second cousins that were wrongly accused of murder and just got out of jail. They're in a unique position - they know exactly what's up with Hayley, as only those falsely accused of taking a life can know the truth of what happens after death. (Answer? A really long waiting line to get your soul judged.)

It soon becomes apparent that Libby's intentions aren't all that good, and that she is conspiring to control not only the Underworld, but something much larger. And to do that, she needs Hayley, who provides a link to the living world. For all that Hayley does to try and defeat her, Libitina is a master trickster, and always outsmarts her. There are three dangerous deals that have been made with Hades and two sides to every coin (noooo, cliche!), which makes everything a lot harder.

...does that make sense?

This looks like an awesome club! Mind if I join? I've been writing stories since I was about seven, but I haven't done any serious writing in a while, aside from RPing.

Does anyone ever have a story idea come to them while they're trying to get to sleep, and then they CANNOT fall asleep until they either write out the whole story or at least get a start on it? That happened to me last night. I was up til 3 AM, and I'm not even finished!

^ All the time. Isn't that the worst? I also get all my good ideas in the shower, and then there's nothing I can do about it. XD

Haha, Shadowcat, same here. :) Thinking of new stories/plot lines at night also works for me, when I'm about to fall asleep.

There are times when I am working on story or book and I will work late into the night to get alot of whatever I'm working at the time finished(atleast most of the way).

That mostly happens to me with poems; I'll think of one amazing line and then I HAVE to keep going...even if it's 4am!

^ So jealous. I wish I could write poetry. I try, and it comes out as... word bile, basically. And that's why I stick to prose. :P

Okay, as annoying as the late-night inspiration is, it's far better than the alternative, which I'm facing right now--writer's block. >.<

I've attempted poetry a bit over the years--I picked it up when we had a poetry portfolio project to do for 9th grade English--but I've never thought of my poems as being very good. I can't do rhyming ones to save my life, and I feel like my free-verse always turns out more like a drabble story than a poem.

I have a natural knack for poetry, and write every so often, it depends what is going in my life. But I write more than just poetry and fiction. Those are just two facets and outlets of writing for me anyway.
