A warm breeze blew through the decorations that were hanging in the trees along the path to Imladris, lifting Lithoniel's already high spirits even higher. She paused momentarily to admire the streamers, heart shaped decorations, and lanterns that hung from the trees. Her date, Hugh Jackman, paused next to her. "These decorations are fantastic." he said as he looked around him. "Ari deserves a gold star in decorating, thats for sure!" Lithi replied. Hugh reached over to adjust the flower he had put in her hair earlier, giving her a chance to admire how he made his suit look good. Now is not the time to swoon she thought as he shifted a small cooler to his other arm, holding out his free one for her as they continued to the party. When they entered Imladris they greeted Lord Elrond, thanking him for opening his beautiful house to everyone. Lithi saw Ari and her date putting the finishing touches on the banquet table. "Ari, I brought a few things for you!" she said, holding up a basket as they walked over to the table. Hugh held the picnic basket as Lithi took out a few items to add them to the table. "I've got some homemade fudge, and a homemade peach cobbler." She pointed to the cooler Hugh had set by the table, adding "There's two cans of homemade ice cream to go with the cobbler too. Figured sweet snacks were right for this occasion. Everything looks wonderful by the way!"

"Promise me one thing," Shadowcat demanded as she and her date paused along the path. "Promise that you won't cause too much trouble?"

Spending the evening with the Norse god of mischief was bound to have its drawbacks, Shadow knew, but she planned on enjoying it all the same. The pink decorations were a bit of a surprise (and if it wasn't amusement on Loki's face, then it was probably horror), but Rivendell was Rivendell; it looked gorgeous. Shadow made a mental note to compliment Ari on it when she saw her.

"I'll try."

It was as good as a response as any, coming from Loki, so Shadow took his hand and the two of them stepped inside, ready to greet the other guests and join in the fun.

"Can you be careful up there, please?" Ari called to the Eleventh Doctor, watching him perch precariously atop a ladder as he hung up the rest of the lanterns, which flickered cheerfully. "I really would prefer it if you didn't, you know, fall and kill yourself right before my party."

"Relax, Ari," he said good-naturedly. "I'm just sonic-ing them so they don't fall down." Finishing up the last one, he slipped his sonic screwdriver back into his jacket pocket and began to make his way down the ladder, a grin on his face. As Arabella watched, though, he slipped on the second-to-last rung and fell crashing to the floor, looking alarmed. It figured. The Doctor always moved around as if he was in a constant state of surprise at his own limbs.

"You all right?"

"Never better, and thank you for not rubbing it in." Ari grinned as she helped her date to his feet. "Glad to hear it. You look great, by the way."

"Thank you. As do you," he said, straightening his bow tie with a bit of a smug smirk on his face. "Bow ties are cool. Now! I know you're a bit nervous at hosting your first-ever A-U party, being a newbie and all, but don't. These are all your friends here, you know. Now, let's bring out the rest of the food, then! I do hope the strawberries are all right, I used a bit of a different technique with the chocolate fountain and some of them may have, er...exploded...in the process..."

The two of them were happily chatting and laying out the last of the food when Lithi and her date, Hugh Jackman, strode into view. Ari smoothed down the folds of her velvet dress before waving excitedly to them. "Hi!" she called as they came closer. "So glad you could make it. Oh, wow, that stuff looks amazing! Just set it down right here. Loved you in X-Men, by the way," she said to Hugh, holding out her hand. "I'm Ari, and this is the Doctor..."

"Hello. I'm the Doctor."

"And I think you two are the first ones here, but nothing wrong with that. Make yourselves at home! We were just about to turn on some music. Oh, hello there!" she called out, spotting Shadowcat and Loki over Lithi's shoulder.

Amara and Legolas had been waiting patiently for Valentine's Day to arrive, mainly to be able to go and visit their good friend Arabella. Amara had always loved spending time with her, so now was definitely the best time to do so. Keeping her arm wrapped in Legolas', Amara held onto the food that they had brought with them in her free hand -- A revised version of Lembas bread. It was much tastier than it had been on the trip to Mordor and also was sprinkled in red and pink toppings for Valentine's Day.

Walking up the steps slowly and looking around Imladris with wide eyes, Amara smiled brightly. "I've never seen anything like this before." She said excitedly to Legolas and then looked up to him. Legolas nodded in agreement with his wife and stared at all of the decorations. "Arabella did a fantastic job as always. She never lets anyone down." He said softly in reply and then walked inside with Amara.

As soon as Amara saw Arabella with her date, she smiled even more and then handed the plate of food to Legolas. "I'll be right back." She said softly and kissed his cheek, before hurrying over to Arabella and attacking her in a huge hug. "ARI!" She squealed happily.

"Hello!" Shadow smiled warmly at the guests that had already arrived. She wasn't accustomed to being this early, but it was nice, to be honest. She'd have to try it again sometime. "You've done a wonderful job with the decorations. And of course you all look lovely!"

She chose not to mention the fact that she'd failed miserably with contributing to the party. There had been a brief attempt at baking; in fact, it had been so brief that it had never really progressed beyond thinking 'yes, I should make something, but what?'

Fortunately, Amara's arrival spared Shadow having to think of something else to say, and she waved politely at the newcomers.

Nurr breathed in deeply as she and Aaron entered the realm of Rivendell. She'd always wanted to visit, but she never expected it to be so....pink! She grinned abashedly, smoothing her blue checkered dress. Maybe she should have gone the traditional red route like her friends had suggested....

Aaron nudged her and gave her a wink. "You look fine, stop fretting." Pulling her into a quick side hug, he then steered her in the direction of the others who had gathered and positioned her like a shield in front of him. "Alright, I know no one. Help?"

Laughing, Nurr pulled him along. "This is Skitty, or Shadowcat I suppose I should say, and over there are Arabella, Lithoniel, and Amara. Arabella is the one we have to thank for the lovely decorations!"

"Thank you Ari." Hugh said, flashing her a smile. "Are you alright Doctor?" he asked as he shook hands with Ari's date. The Doctor assured them he was fine. "Well Doctor, at least your fall wasn't in vain, the lanterns look great." Lithi said. She greeted Shadowcat and her date as they joined their group, and quickly moved out of the way so Amara could greet Ari. Lithi noticed Nurr arrive and waved to her as she pulled her date along behind her. "Welcome to the party!" she said, "Love your dress, very cute!"

Harthad poked her head around the door, peering into Rivendell. What she saw there made her catch her breath. Pink streamers, red balloons, basically every decoration imaginable--Arabella had definitely gone the whole 10 yards. She walked into the room, her date, David walking in beside her, looking all around.

"This is. . .huge." David said, and Harthad grinned.

"Of course it is, Arabella planned it all. Come on, let's go and see her!" She took off, David running behind her, trying to keep his hat on.

"Didn't you say Jack and everyone else were going to be here?!" he shouted at her. "I don't know half the people here! Harthad!!"

Smaug entered Rivendell with amused smile. The elven habitat was so pink that it almost hurted the sensitive eyes of the dragon girl. She poked one of pink balloons and it blowed with harsh sound.

"I shouldn't be here" she thought but amusement didn't leave her. Maybe she could find a good place for her and her three pet dragons: Rhaegal, Viserion and Drogon. She stole them from other dragon girl and - since they didn't protest - kept them with her. They learnt to love her and she learnt to love them as much as her heart allowed her.

Suddenly Drogon puked a fire breath and couple of balloons exloded and one of the serpentines caught fire.

"You can't enter a party without making a mess?" she laughed.

"Come on Sherlock, we're already running late!" Lhun was practically skipping from one foot to the other in impatience. If it hadn't been for his experiments, they would have arrived in time, instead of being more than fashionably late. And now he was again taking his time, observing the cute pink and red ornaments Arabella had used to decorate the place. "I'm sure they'll understand, once they see what you brought!" he answered with an amused smile, referring to the chocolate cake covered in pink decorations he was holding.

As soon as they entered the hall, Sherlock stopped moving, again. His gaze was fixed on Smaug and her young dragons. "I'll see you in a sec, okay?" he murmered, before giving Lhun an absentminded kiss on her cheek. Smiling, she took the cake from him and made her way over to the banquet table. "Hi everyone, I'm sorry we're late! Arabella, you really outdid yourself with the decorations, the place looks lovely!" she said, beaming.

So many people to greet, so many compliments on the decorations, and so many new and familiar faces. Ari was pulled into hugs by so many people, trying to quickly introduce dates and put faces to names. "Thanks!" she said enthusiastically to another compliment on the plethora of pink and hearts and other various frilly decorations. "I had a lot of help from the--"

She turned around, but the Doctor was no longer by her side. "Doctor?" she called out, confused, until she spotted him a little ways away across the room. "I'm over here, no need to worry, just checking out the dragons!" he called, waving to her.

"...Dragons? No, Doctor, come back here, please get away from the dragons, the last thing I need is a--"

There was a small explosion.

"...Fire," she finished, burying her head in her hands. She watched as Sherlock and the Doctor conferred excitedly over the prospects of dragons at a party. A few servants came running over with a pitcher of water and disaster was averted, but Ari stomped over to her maddening, brilliant date anyway, grabbing him by the arm and dragging him away from the dragon hoarde.

"Fascinating creatures, aren't they? Reminds me of my trip to the planet Geath, a medieval planet, you know. Amy and Rory were with me, and there were dragons, although they weren't exactly real dragons. And then of course we have all your human myths about dragons, originating from--hang on, where are you taking me?"

"Somewhere where you can't get into any trouble?"

"Somewhere is a planet, as I'm sure you'll remember, and when have I ever gotten into any trouble? Ah, nevermind that, then, rubbish question."

Ari gave a laugh, rejoining the others. "Um...yeah. Should we maybe turn on some music? Or something? Unless something else wants to explode..."

"Music sounds great, Arabella!" Harthad said, running up to her friend. "And hi! Hi, Doctor! The decorations look great. Who's exploding?"

David ran up to the threesome, holding the plate of cookies that Harthad neglected to mention earlier. "Where should I put these?" he asked, looking around for the food table that was surely around here somewhere.

"Um. . ." Harthad adjusted her glasses, looking around, and then pointed in the direction of the table. "Over there!"

David nodded, walking over to the table. Harthad looked back at Arabella. "So, what about music?"

The Doctor pointed excitedly over to where Smaug and her dragons stood. "Dragons, Harthad! See them? That's what's exploding. Well, not really exploding. Breathing fire, more like. Ari's just over-exaggerating, really. They aren't all that dangerous. Unless you provoke one, of course..."

"Don't even think about it," Ari said, slightly exasperatedly, although her eyes were smiling. "Anyway, music. Doctor, what happened to that band you hired?"

The Doctor looked down, looking sheepish. "Er...about that. It turns out they weren't actually, you know...from this time period, and...well, the long story short is that they might be a while." He grinned. "But I'm sure they'll show up eventually! In the meantime, do you maybe have something else..."

Ari rolled her eyes and walked away, running to grab her purse from another room. She grabbed her ipod and came back, tossing it to the Doctor. He caught it deftly and soniced it, placing it on the table. Immediately, Michael Buble's version of "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" filled the air, and the Doctor beamed. "They played this at Amy and Rory's wedding!" he cried.

Ari smiled. "I did a tap dance routine to this once."

The Doctor ran at her, grabbing her by the hand and pulling her on to the dance floor. "What are we waiting for, then?"

Nurr laughed as she watched the Doctor rush about the room. And inadvertently took a step back when she saw him head for the dance floor. No way was that man coordinated enough to be safe dancing near! She made her way over to Crutchie er, Harthad. "Hey! How are you?"

Lithoniel laughed when the song started and took Hugh by the hand, pulling him to the dance floor. "I love this song! Only I grew up with the Dwight Yokam version, but Buble does it well!" They danced their way over near the dragons. A burst of flame made Lithi jump and they quickly changed direction to another part of the floor. She glanced over Hugh's shoulder and said "They are really beautiful. They've certainly captured Sherlock's attention. And is that a chocolate cake?" Hugh looked over at the food table as Lhun found a place among all the other goodies for the cake. "I believe it is. Let me guess, you want some now?" he said with a smile. "Of course!" she replied. They danced their way across the floor and around couples until they reached the table. "Lhun! How are you! Oh that cake looks fantastic!" Lithi said as she eyed the cake.
