(I suppose I should finally join, lol. But I hope you don't mind if I use a different character template for my OC. But I guess I'll play Gimli, too.

Name: Eruraina Ruindoleth
Appearance: amber eyes, with flaming red hair in waves down her back, nearly to her waste, though often braided. Lean and fit with calloused hands, average elven height. A scar runs from the right corner of her mouth to the corner of her right eye.

Apparel: Mostly light leather and cloth dyed in various shades of forest green and navy blue. The hems and edges stitched with silver elvish vines and leaves. Light shin-high leather riding boots, and a dark grey cloak. That is her usual travel apparel.
Weapons: Elven longsword with horseheads on the hilt and a pommel that clasps a blue jewel. A plain wodden longbow and simple arrow with white fletching in a quiver painted with horses on a green field and a red sun. As well as a simple hunting knife.
Companions: Black horse named Fuin, Hunting eagle named Hen.
History: Raised in Rivendell, she grew restless and in an attempt to cross Caradhras to go to Lothlorien, there was an accident which caused the scar on her face. She was rescued by a Lothlorien scout by the name of Locien who helped her to Lothlorien. There they grew close, wed, and had a child, Roina. But one day Locien died on a scouting mission. The news devastated Eruraina, and she left Lothlorien and her daughter to find herself in Rohan where she helped a horse breeder with a wolf problem and in return was given Fuin. Then her once close-minded eyes opened up to view the world in a different light, having seen and realized the world of men(especially those not of Numenorean decent). Her loss was abated slightly as she traveled to discover further this world with her new view on things. Her travels brought her to Mirkwood in it's dire time of need.

That is actually the very shortened version of her history, lol.)


Gimli's axe was almost black from orc blood, his helm splattered the same color, and his beard speckled with it. The sturdy dwarf had fought on the front lines with Legolas until the elf king had gotten wounded. The dwarf had fought off another wave of orcs as Legolas had been taken back to the safety of the cave homes of the Mirkwood elves. Once the wave had lightened slightly, Gimli ran in the direction his friend had gone.
"Where is 'e? Where did you take that pointy-eared princeling?" Gimli called until and came upon the room where Hareth was trying to talk Legolas out of fighting further, getting a few glares from the other elves. They tolerated the dwarf only because he was a friend of their new king. But he stilled annoyed them, especially when Gimli called Legolas 'princeling'. The dwarf simply replied that he met Legolas as a Prince, became friends with him as a Prince, and still sees him as the same Prince.
"Oi, what ya be doin? I know y'er hurt, and you are takin care of 'im... but if ya both are in here... who's commandin'? Army can't fight without direction!" Gimli growled. "But I'll say again, as I said a thousand times before. Send for my kin at the Lonely Mountain! An army of dwarves, fully armed and filthy would put these orcs in their place."

On the outskirts of Mirkwood, the sound of a fight was barely a murmur in the wind. Even for keen elven ears. Eruraina glanced up at the sound of an eagle's call. Hen was circling above, and the call had been a warning. Something was amiss in this wood. From what she had heard, it had never been considered peaceful. Not with the shadow of Dul Goldur, and the infestation of nasty spiders. But something in her gut had drawn her here at this time, and as she watched, Hen flew towards the direction of the home of the Mirkwood elves. Eruraina made tightened her reins and made a clicking noise in her mouth, spurring Fuin forward deeper into the forest. It wasn't long before the sound of clashing swords rang in her ears.
She unsheathed her sword from her belt and held it at the ready, holding the reins in her other hand, preparing for what may lay ahead. Then as she broke from the trees into a clearing, she found herself abruptly in the thick of a battle. She kept her head and right away found whose side she was on. Orcs fighting elves. Wasn't it obvious? Having taken the orcs by surprise by coming up behind on horseback, she took that advantage to cut down as many as she could before she was amung her elven kin, fighting...

"I'm fine, Gimli." Legloas said. "And as I've said before. My people would not apreticate fighting alongside dwarves. They object enough to you, my friend."
"Sire," Hareth said. "If I am not needed, Gimli is right. The army needs a commander, and as your second in command, I will be out there until you are healed."
"Alright." Legolas gave his approval. "Thank you."

(Alright, Nesselde. Tis a shame that she didn't want to continue with us... The more the merrier, right? )

Amara had managed to kill all of the Orcs around her, before looking up to see an Elf slay many more from behind on horseback. She took a deep breath and wiped some of the Orc blood off of her face, before hurrying on to the next group of enemies. After a while, though... They were no more. At least, for now. She didn't understand why all of Middle Earth was in peace, but Mirkwood was left in ruin. It infuriated her. But, she was going to work hard to make sure that her land was safe again.

She leaned against the tree and swallowed hard, breathing heavily. She gathered her thoughts and caught her breath before slowly walking over to the Elf on the horse, while sheathing her sword. "I thank you my friend, for helping us fight. The height from your horse was most helpful." She said with a small smile, looking up to Eruraina. She was sure that she hadn't met this Elf before, but she had helped her in the fight. And she was very thankful.

The wave of orcs was defeated and the battle ended, for now. When the last orc of this group was slain, Eruraina could tell that these elves were weary from long fighting by the tired looks in their eyes. Bodies strewed about everywhere, giving the stuffy air under the thick boughs of the trees an almost rancid smell.

The elf dismounted as another approached her.
"Think nothing of it. Though we hail from different home lands, we are still kin," Eruraina replied to Amara. "I was passing through and heard the fighting and came to see what my ears had heard. I am Eruraina Ruindoleth of Imladris."

With her introduction she put a gloved hand on her chest and bowed her head in the traditional elvish greeting.

Gimli turned to Legolas as Hareth left.
"I thought the dark days were gone after Sauron fell. What do ye think is the source of this strife?" he asked the elven king. "I can't be Dul Goldur again, can it?"

Legolas shrugged. "I do not know, mellon nin. I do not know." His blue eyes looked down the hallway of his underground kingdom. "I wish I knew...More of my people are being killed every day, and I cannot stop it...They are losing hope, Gimli."

Hareth buckled his swordbelt around his waist. The king's friend was right, even if he was a dwarf. The army did need leading. And if the king was unable to do it, then Hareth was the next in line. He saddled his horse and headed for the battle.

Amara listened to what the elf in front of her had spoken and then put her fisted hand up to her chest, bowing down as well to her new acquaintance. "Well met, my friend. My name is Amara Thandiel." She said softly and then stood up straight again, smiling a little more to the she-elf. "It looks as though the war is over for now. We should probably tell the King..." She then tracked off and swallowed hard, remembering what had happened to King Thranduil.

Shaking her head a bit to clear her mind, she took a deep breath and wiped some sweat off of her dirtied brow. She knew that she had to head to the castle, but right as she thought of that, she saw Legolas' friend and companion Hareth. She turned to face him and then waved him over. "Hareth... How is King Legolas?" She asked him, hoping that everything was okay. She knew that he had been injured previously.

Hareth gave a slightly bitter smile. "The king will be fine, provided that he gets proper rest and doesnt insist on rejoining the battle before his wounds are healed."

Amara slowly nodded to what Hareth said and then took a deep breath. "I see... Well... The majority of Orcs have been annihilated, my friend. The amount of us are few now, but we can still win. Mirkwood is a strong land that was ruled by a strong leader. Legolas will do us all proud." She said to Hareth softly and then nodded a bit.

Taking a deep breath, Amara looked over his face. "I can start moving the bodies out of Mirkwood to clean the place up, if need be." She said softly, watching him closely.

"Then we give them new hope!" grumbled Gimli. "Send for Aragorn, he will aid us, if no one else will. Or send a few select members to find the source of the orcs. If we know the cause, we will have new hope of winning because we will be better to figure out how."

"A pleasure to meet you, Amara," Eruraina replied to her. She glanced around as she walked off and approached another who seemed to have an air of authority though Eruraina did not recognize him. Then something Amara said caught her attention.

She approached the two.
"Excuse me, but did you just King Legolas? What has happened to King Thranduil? What all has happened here?" then she realized she was being rude in butting into the conversation. "Forgive my manners," and turned to Hareth. "I am Eruraina Ruindoleth of Imladris, at your service my lord."

Legolas dropped his headinto his his hands. "I have tried. No one can get through the orcs to get a message to Aragorn. It is suicide to try."

"Thranduil was killed in this cursed war." Hareth said a trifle harshly. "His son Legolas is king now. I am Hareth, King Legolas's counseler."

Eruraina took on a grim expression, bowing her head in respect.
"I had not known, I am terribly sorry for the loss. He was a good king from what I had heard," she replied before looking back up. "If there is anything I can do during this time of need, just speak the word. I am at your service, and that of the king," she said with a curt bow.

"Maybe you haven't tried hard enough," Gimli grumbled. "Or maybe you haven't tried with the right people. Remember before the war, the tales of the downfall of Smaug and how the dwarves took back the mountain? Gandalf had gotten hold of that map and key from Thorin's father, who was a prisoner in Dul Goldur at the time. Somehow the wizard snuck in and out without being noticed. Too bad Gandalf is no longer in Middle-Earth," Gimli sighed...

Hareth nodded. "thank you. I know that King Legolas feels the death of his father deeply. No king should have to become king in the middle of a war."

"It is unfair of me to ask my people to do something that I myself am unwilling to do. Yes, Gandalf could have done it. And likely, Aragorn himself could pull it off." Legloas sighed. "And I would do it myself, if there was someone to take my place. Only there isn't."
