Oldin's sword was back at the man's throat. This time he slit a tiny cut. "i'm not afraid to kill you, though I'd rather not." He said, putting pressure on the tip.

"You can't kill me." he said. "You can try, but the blood that runs through my veins contains the deepest of magic. To try and kill me would fail. Miserably. I'll just come back again. But go ahead. Try." his eyes glittered.

"I'd rather not." Oldin said, resisting the temptation. "I'd rather you tell us your name."

Marylyn watched the scene before her. She was frozen to the spot, by fear or torn options she was not sure. Finally she crossed over to the man who was bound. "Magic can do many things, but it will not save you forever. I think it best that you talk now, before a whole new world of pain is unleashed upon you."
Logan watched his bindings, pleased with his work. No worm could escape this prison. He listened to the conversation, his patience growing thin. "You cannot come back to life if your vital parts are missing or destroyed. I am not beyond such cruelty when it is warranted."

Areanne smirked grimly. "And even if you do come back, we can always hold you here, doomed to fade and rot in your bindings, always on gaurd, always watching, until the bars of your prison finally come to accept you and insanity claims yours soul. Not even Sauron stood forever. You definately cannot. The deepest magic works as evil does: it will always, one way or another, stab you in the back." Areanne nodded to Oldin and Logan. "We have another visitor. When we are done here, I shall go to Rohan and inform King Eomer that his daughter has been sold into slavery. But first, I need to know where we are. Do any of you know?"

"We are close to Fire Lake. If you do not know where that is, then, I cannot tell you more." Oldin said. He wished that he could tell Areanne something else. Like the nearest town. That would help a lot, but even he didn't know.

Areanne thought for a moment. "Fire Lake..." She couldn't shake the feeling it sounded familiar. "Nevermind. Let's deal with this wretch first, then I can travel North to Rohan and find Eomer and bring him the news. Although... It's funny. The slave girl, she didn't want to go back. I can understand that with her brother and all, but she said someone would kill her. It couldn't of been her current master, for she would be protected, and obviously we've got this worm tied up, and his brother wouldn't go far if I had some proof it was him..." She turned to Cale and grinned. She expertly sliced a strip of fine fabric from his sleeve and tucked it into her inside cloak pouch. "What if we took this fellow to Rohan? The delay would be stifling, but we could kill two or three birds with one stone. I'm sure Eomer would have some way of making him talk..." Her mind began formulating a plan. A small part of her chided her for thinking something so cruel, but that part was insignificant. Her years of torment had made her stronger- she couldn't give in to pity.

Cale smirked, and his bindings began to loosen as he began muttering words. A spell. He broke free, disappearing into the woods.
Eonwe finally made it back to her master's. She was greeted, and the rest that followed was a world of pain. She was thrown into a small cell, no food, no water. Her back was torn and bleeding, but yet, she didn't make a sound.

Areanne cried out. Curse him! Blasted ranger. How did such magic come to him?
Areanne's eyes darkened. "I'm going to Rohan. If any wish to go with me, speak now, for I will leave at my earliest opportunity." She felt the stirring of vengeance within her, a boiling feeling she felt many times before. She knew it was the leftover scars from the cursed years of insanity; but she embraced it, as it gave a new tone to her strength and endurance.

Oldin cursed as the man slipped away. He started to pursue, but hearing Areanne, he turned. "I will come." he said.

Marylyn pondered the predicament she had found herself in. Her father was waiting for her, this she knew, but she also knew she could be of no more help to him. The alcohol had poisoned his mind and character. Marylyn did not even recognise her father anymore. He did not recognise her either. Marylyn had become his slave and primary care giver from a very young age. There was no one else that could take the job on. She had no siblings and her mother died at childbirth. Neighbours and friends had helped as much as they could, but Marylyn's father soon became too much of a burden on their already weary shoulders. Marylyn took up the slack and that is how it remained until she left last week. Marylyn took care and arranged for carers and healers to look after her father. This did not ease her guilt. Nothing ever would. Her next options would be to either chase after the wicked man or travel to Rohan. The man scared her to her very core. Marylyn had no desire to come face to face with him again. She would take peace in believing that the wild would destroy him. Worry settled over her for the young princess who had been sold into slavery. Marylyn could not help but wonder what had drove her back to her master. Why did she not take freedom while it was afforded to her. Marylyn's mind was set. "I will come with you to Rohan." Her eyes met Oldin's briefly before coming to settle on Areanne's. "When do you want to leave?"
Logan had grown silent. He cursed himself for allowing the man escape. He stared at the spot where he had disappeared, chewing on his bottom lip. Suddenly he stood. "With your leave, my Lord, I would like to take some men and hunt that beast of burden down." He glanced at the small gathering before turning his attention back to the woods.

Areanne allowed herself a brief smile. "Whenever you're ready. Just say the word and we'll be off." She thought a moment and grinned. She reached into her hidden cloak-pouch and withdrew the scrap of cloth she had taken from Cale. She held it up triumphantly. "And we have our proof. See, it's a seal. It's got his mark on it. "

Cale raced through the woods, towards the nearest plantation. The vineyard. He smirked. Perhaps he would entertain himself a little while. Make red haired one jump a bit.

Areanne felt around the duffel sack strapped around her back. Rations, rope, herbal medicines, kindling- everything they would need for at most a month of travelling. She tucked the fabric strip back into her cloak pouch and resaddled the duffel bag. She observed her comrades, smiling gratefully. About time someone had sense in these parts, she thought to herself.

"Of course, Logan, please do." Oldin said.
