@Ariadne: I admit I never was a Hobbit book fan but I quite liked the movie. Of course, I had anticipated it for three years and seeing it was so exciting.There were so many great scenes and I loved that they tried to expand on the events and characters that Tolkien only briefly mentions. I don't think everything was perfect but the overall impression is good and this will definitely fuel the fanbase. Go here for more impressions.
