Everyone's saying the sad or wise ones but I like the funny ones like when Gimli says 'not the beard' and 'nobody tosses a dwarf'. I also like many of Pippins lines (too many to mention) and while it isn't in the Fellowship of the Ring, I like the bit where Legolas says 'Shall I describe it to you? Or would you like me to find you a box?'.

It's: "The dwarf breathes so loud we could have shot him in the dark." Haldir of Lorien... I also liked Gimli's quote from the book: "Faithless is he who says farewell when the road darkens."

My whole family laughed so hard when Gimli (at the end of FOTR) was so excited to 'hunt some Orc' even my dad, who never laughs at movies was laughing. Anything that has Gimli in it is going to be funny!

I love several lines in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, some from the hobbits, some from the elves, some from Gandalf. It's hard to narrow it down with The Lord of the Rings

-"They have a cave troll!" by Boromir. (FotR) - "I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you!" Sam to Frodo in Mount Doom. (RotK) - "They are taking the hobbits to Isengard!" by Legolas in tTT.

This might have been in the extended edition, I'm not sure. Pippin: Merry. Merry: What? Pippin: I'm hungry.

"I would have followed you, my brother. My captain. My king." -Boromir
"Arise! Arise! Riders of Théoden! Spears shall be shaken! Shields shall be splintered! A sword-day! A red day, ere the sun rises!" -Theoden
And again, one of my favourite exchanges in all the movies....
Pippin: "What's that?!"
Merry: This, my friend, is a pint!" *looking wantingly in love at the brew*
Pippin: "It comes in pints?!"
Merry: "Mmm..." (agreeing, while taking a large sip)
Pippin: "I'm getting one!"
Sam: "You've had a whole half already!"
(Pippin heads off to the bar to get himself a pint)
