I've tried to understand it over the years I've been here and I still don't really have a clue. What exactly is this family tree thing for and what do you do?
For fun? I genuinely don't know. I just wanted to marry a character and have him be all mine. (If you do decide to join though, I'm claiming the right to adopt you. )_________________

					| Hravan, I'll try to answer your question as best as I can, but anyone can feel free to jump in to fill in the gaps. The Family Tree is a way for members of A-U to connect in a more personal way. The Tree is meant to be a supportive group where we can feel comfortable talking about almost anything. The Tree is also a good way to help new members settle into the forum, and older members can welcome others and catch up with each other. If you want to join you can simply make a post saying that you'd like to be "adopted" by anyone who is already a member of the tree, or you can contact a specific person if you'd like to be their adoptive child on the Tree and then make that post here. You can also claim a spouse if there's a certain someone out there who catches your eye - a spouse can be either a member of the forum or a 'fictional' character. I hope this helps! Let us know if something is still unclear. _________________sig set by Nurr It is the small, everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay, small acts of kindness and love.

					| ^ Very nice explanation Ariadne! I've nothing to add to that. Some of you might have noticed it already, but since today is the 22nd the previously claimed husbands of forum members who were not yet part of the Tree are now de-claimed and up for new claiming. So this only applies to characters/persons who are not currently claimed by members of the Tree _________________

					| Yipes. I'm Legolas' daughter. It kinda sounds awkward since he isn't really married, but in a way it's cool He. he. he. (by the way that was an uneasy laugh.)call me Fin, Ara, Aralas, Tulisse, or Tuli._________________

Well, you can choose a character from a movie/book/tv show, or an actor to be your spouse and you can start adopting people into the Tree as your children. And we also have a RP thread here thats sort of like a big family living room of sorts (puts me in mind of a Hogwarts common room), where you can wander in and either post about a real life event, or you can even have some fun and post a little RP style (for example I could say that my hubby Hook is out causing trouble like the pirate that he is). And we also have parties where the family is invited, and its a big RP thread where we all just hang out and have fun for a few days. Its like a big club of sorts. And a fun way to be connected to other members. I hope I helped. _________________ Wed Killian Jones (Captain Hook) 4/20/13
