Ithilwen shrugged and said,"Why would you be passing through this land?" She paused and thought hard. Then she had an idea of what they might be doing. "To kill Smaug and take Erebor back, perhaps?" she said. The dwarves looked at each other uneasily. "Come! Let us go to a place where we can discuss these matters in peace," Legolas suggested.

"Uh...nothing," one of them, a blonde one stammered. But the other one, a dark haired one who didn't look much like a dwarf said the opposite. "We're missing one of our company." Legolas looked at Ithilwen and whispered, "That must be the one that they put in the prison." Ithilwen's eyes widened.

Ithilwen remained at the back, where the younger dwarves were. She leaned down as they walked and talked with them. "So, what's your name?" she asked one of them. She was quite interested in dwarves and she didn't like her father for refusing to support them when their home was taken by Smaug.
