Aralas talked with Legolas, who still sat fairly near. They were talking about Mirkwood, their homeland when suddenly a weird thought popped into Aralas' head. "Well, Legolas. I dare you to talk to that dwarf," she said boldly. Her brothers' eyes widened and he looked at the dwarf from the corner of his eye. He took a deep breath, but didn't turn to the dwarf. "No thank you," he breathed, and ignored the dwarf (which was Gimli) who was laughing at something his father had said and was now gulping down his drink. Some of it was trickling down his chin. Aralas swallowed a giggle. She turned to Anariel. "So. Do you mind telling me about yourself and what brings you here?" Aralas asked. "Of course not!" Anariel said, smiling. "Well, my uncle is the Steward of Gondor. Boromir, as you know, is my cousin and he has a brother, Faramir, who is actually really popular in Gondor. Of course, Boromir is also very well known," she said, adding a small nod towards Boromir. "What brought us here was a very strange dream. Faramir first received it, then the next night Boromir, Faramir and I had it. But you will hear of this dream at the Council. And what brings YOU here, Aralas?" "Legolas and I have news to being from Mirkwood. And I'm afraid it's not good," Aralas said, her face turning grim. "But that will have to wait, and now I wish to cast aside all fear and danger and be merry. I'm afraid what lies ahead might be worse, and while an opportunity for merry making lasts, I like to take the opportunity," Aralas added with a smile.

The next day, Aralas woke up to see Legolas bent over her. "Hurry up! You've slept too much. The Council will begin soon!" he said hurriedly. She got ready and just as she finished, a bell rang, summoning the guests to the Council.

As Anabel was coming out her door, she bumped into Lessien. "hurry up! They're going to start without us!" she cried, and they ran off together.

Anariel burst out of her room just as her cousin and her new friends got out from their rooms. "Let's go!" she yelled excitedly to Aralas. Aralas didn't know why she felt so excited, but it felt like the beginning of an adventure. Once again, Legolas, Anariel, Aralas and Boromir were one group. They went to the Council just as the first people arrived, who included Lord Elrond and Aragorn, son of Arathorn. Legolas was immediately greeted by Aragorn, and they talked for a while. Anariel sat in between Boromir and Aralas. Legolas soon took a seat beside his sister.

Elrond began to talk about the ring and its history and dangers. Anabel noticed a nervous looking hobbit across the room. That must be Frodo, she thought.

"Strangers from distant lands, friends of old, you have been summoned here to answer the threat of Mordor..." Elrond started. Aralas rolled her eyes. Elrond was famous for giving long, boring introductions. She twirled a strand of hair around her finger, hardly listening. Her mind snapped back to the council when Elrond said, "Frodo, bring forth the Ring." "So it is true," Boromir whispered, hardly audible. Anariel looked afraid for her cousin. Boromir stood up and started talking about his dream. "In a dream, I saw the eastern sky grow dark..."

"Isildir's Bane..." Boromir trailed off, reaching out for the Ring. "Boromir!" Anariel and Elrond said at the same time. Anariel looked worried and Elrond looked suspicious and mad. Gandalf stood up, chanting the Ringspell in Black Speech. Legolas looked at his sister, horrified. Anariel closed her eyes and covered her ears. Aralas gripped her seat. The words of Sauron echoed in her head and she sat, paralyzed, staring at the Ring.
