No we should stay to what Tolkien wrote, so not the movies or anything PJ created/came up with.
So it doesn't have to come from The Hobbit only, but should be based on what Tolkien himself has said. And to some extent what his son has said, tool, although then it should probably be made clear who says what.

I can't find a name meaning for Kili...
although one of Tolkien's letters says that the dwarf names are like Icelandic or Scandinavian or something..

Actually, Tolkien didn't get the names Fili and Kili from his own mind. He borrowed them from characters in the Edda, by Snorre Sturlason.

So... how do I get the name meaning? All I have right now is a bit of the content, name, birth, death ( ), race, parent and sibling..

As far as I've been able to find, there's no clear definition given anywhere of what the names mean. You could always just make a note of where the name's from, rather than what it means.

Basically, they're mentioned in a famous poem from the Poetic Edda, called Völuspá, which is about the creation of humans. Which is all Nordic Mythology, by the way, in case you're not familiar. The names are just mentioned, they're not described as characters or anything of the sort, but they are dwarves in the poem too.

Oh, okay.

I can't find a lot of info, so is it okay if I half-finish it and whoever wants to can finish it for me? Because now that I think of it, the bios are really good, and I'm not a really good writer, to tell the truth... so yeah. And I don't want a really awesome character to have a really lame, stinky bio.
