Wow. Those five seconds of Thranduil were awesome. Talk about badass elven king.
That song... it was the one that Pippin sang in RotK. Much more fitting to this than the original scene.
It looks like it will be much better than DoS.

Thorin's line: "Will you follow me one last time?" almost had me in tears! I'd follow Thorin anywhere, even into battle if necessary, so he doesn't even have to ask me that question (unless he wants to). Can he get any more epic (probably)? And was that Thror's crown he was wearing? And I agree with Erin that Pippin's song seemed much more fitting for BoFA than it was for the scene they played it on during RotK (though there's a good chance it won't be in the movie, since it's just a trailer, not the actual film).

^ Yeah but it's the official trailer, so maybe they'll incorporate it somewhere? It would be utterly awesome if they did!

As for the trailer, I loved seeing all the characters in different shots, but I really hope we get to see some non-fighting scenes as well.. Of course this has to be like the grand finale, but battlefield scenes aren't the most interesting to watch in my opinion. And I wonder what part Bilbo will play in all this, besides looking nervous and frightened and worried?

It's been 2 months since the trailer for The Battle of Five Armies was released and I've been waiting patiently to write this article. The marketing had me convinced that they would have a trailer a lot sooner than they did, but the wait has been worth it!
