Flight
My heartbeat pumps to the rhythm of my wings,
Coasting on the air currently escaping my lungs,
The air similar to a soft wind,
Letting me weave to and fro in through the sky,
On a journey of self discovery,
Unsure where my resting place will be,
Rough winds try to steer me off course,
Forcing my way through the storms of life,
Defying people's expectations,
Though my wings may be beaten,
I will keep my them flapping,
Up and down,
And up and down ,
Only stopping for a brief rest,
Here and there,
Though at times,
I feel ensnared by my cocoon once again,
Squirming to and fro,
Eager for escape,
For a safe haven,
Despite my scarred wings,
I carry in me,
A strong-willed spirit,
A fighting urge to live,
This is my flight.
So, what do you all think?

Cool! It's great to get to read some poetry in this section once more. Always enjoy a good read.  I like the imagery it gives, slightly vague but intriguing and adds wonder and a slightly mystical feel. *thumbs up*
