My sister has been watching the BBC North and South. We were talking about how it is so different seeing "thorin" in another roll. He isn't short and stocky at all! Lol it is really neat hownthey can effect the appearance like that in films and turn a tall slim man into a short stout dwarf.
Of course I guess it was very similar with Gimli. He was one of the tallest actors on the set. I have seen some of the extras, how sometimes the actors (though they look like they are right beside eachother) are really a long ways appart. This makes the close actors (like gandalf) look much taller than the distant ones such as the dwarves.
I personally think it would have been a lot of fun to play a dwarf.

Indeed! And pluss with all the makeup you have to do to make prople look like dwarves and with a huge beard and all I could have stood to look at myself on screan! Lol
I donmt know why... But other than Aragorn's roll I always thought the dwarves had the funnest rolls to play.
