The Hawaiian alphabet has 12 letters: five vowels (long and short) and seven consonants. It contains an additional consonantal sound ʻokina which is a glottal stop.

Ah, I've not seen the movie.
It's easy to read Hawaiian. You break down the words into their syllables.
Here's a good example: King Kamehameha I was the founder and first ruler of the Kingdom of Hawai'i.
So, if we break down the syllables we have: Kah May Hah May Ha.
Basically:
A is Ah
E is a long A
I is a long E
O is either Oh or Oo
U is Oo
A place we like to snorkel in is Kahalu'u Bay on the other side of the island.
Kah Ha Loo Oo
See? It's easy. And when you say it out loud, it's rather sing-song, and with a Hawaiian accent, it's lovely.
