I have to say I have become a fan of Amalie Bruun, who goes by the performance name of Myrkur Øksemorder. Her music is primarily of the 'Black Metal' or 'Gothic Metal' genre, but she does Medieval Scandanavian acoustic folk as well. I can take or leave the hard metal gutteral throat singing, but really like her folk singing and her command of the period instruments. This is but one example:
