Portia's eyes widened, when she saw Jack's hat, but not him himself. She dived back into the water, thanking God that she knew how to swim, and swam towards his hat. She snatched it, and stuck it under her belt. She then dived underwater, and looked around, trying to find Jack.

The waves started to die down as the storm moved it's way over them. The rain wasn't coming down so heavy now, but the fog hovering over the water grew to where one couldn't see infront of them.
Finally threw the thick fog, Jack could be seen. His body was face down and was floating.

Portia came up to the surface for air, and then gasped when she saw Jack. She swam quickly over to him, and grabbed him, while letting him breath fresh air. She looked around, and the Black Pearl had disappeared in the fog. "Oh, no..." She whispered.
She started swimming in the direction of the current, hoping it would lead them to an island. About thirty minutes past, and she finally found an island. She was worn out, by trying to hold Jack and paddling them the whole way.
She reached the sandy beach of the seeming desolate and untouched island and laid Jack on the ground, while trying to catch her breath. She laid down beside him, and her chest rose and fell quickly.

Jack's complection turned to a slight pale blue. His belly looked bloated with water, unlike Portia's rising chest, his didn't move.

Portia looked over to Jack, and noticed that he wasn't breathing. Her eyes widened, and she quickly crawled over to him.
She started pushing down on his chest and stomach. She pinched his nose, and opened his mouth a little. She then blew air into his mouth, and then stopped for a little bit to continue the process.
"Come on, Jack... stay wit' me..."

Jack's body was still as limp as a fish. He was slightly going cold to the touch.

Portia started getting aggravated and a quite worried about him. "JACK, COME ON!!" She yelled.
She started punching his chest, to get the water out. She could feel tears reaching her eyes.
She had never had a person die in front of her, and she wasn't going to have an example with Jack.

The situation was looking quite dim. Jack was still limp, and his life seemed to be slipping by the threads.

Portia stared at his face, and felt her tears slid down her face and onto Jack's face. "Come on, Jack..." She said, faintly.
She placed her hand on his forehead, and he felt really cold. Her lip quivered, and then she decided that she would try and do the process over again. She wasn't one of giving up.

Finally there seemed to be eye movement under neath Jack's lids for less then a second. It stopped and there was no more movement.

Portia watched Jack, more intently. "Come on, Jack. I know ya don't give up this easily."
She let her hand rest on his cheek, and she felt more tears coming. She then placed a soft kiss on his other cheek, and sighed.
She sat up straight, and looked down to her hands that were in her lap. She had no idea what else to do.

Jack's body finally hurled over. His mouth started spewing out water as life was somehow filled back into his lungs again. His eyes remained closed when all of this was happening, his physical was awake, but his mental was still dead.

Portia was in shock, when he started spitting the water out. She had a huge smile on her face, and she wiped away her tears. She didn't want him finding out, that she had been crying.
She just sat him upright, so he could breathe better, and patted his back. "Jack, are ya alright?" She looked over his face.

Jack's body was still spewing out the water. He then started to slowly become conscious. His eyes started to open, but then slowly shut again because of the light. He gagged and coughed like an old man would.
After a few moments, his body started to calm down and Jack's eyes opened searching his surroundings. He breathed hard then finally started to speak, "Where am I?" His head titled up towards Portia, "Who are you?"
Sad to say, Jack couldn't remember who anybody was, or in fact who exactly he was..for he hit his head on the ship, when he fell off trying to save Portia.

Portia looked shocked, when Jack asked her who she was. More upset, than shocked rather. She slowly stood up, and just stared at him.
"It's me... Portia." She said, with a soft tone. She didn't have any idea what had happened to him, when he tried to save her, and if she found out, she would fully blame herself.
