Miranda looked from one to the other. For once, she was unsure of which side to take. She loved her people - their emerging nation - with a passion, but her friend had gotten shot at, and she felt a loyalty to her. The two sides just about balanced eachother out. Then again, Elizabeth was supposed to be on their side...oh well. It was so confusing...she decided to just stay out of it.

She was grabbed by her cousin and he looked at her. "Simple question, cousin. British or American?"
Her eyes narrowed. "I may be enganged to an offical of the Navy, but I will always be an American, but what you are doing is against what Americanism is about!" His eyes narrowed and suddenly she felt a stinging pain on her cheek before being pushed away from her cousin. She stumbled, and began to fall.
