Devon sighed. She was scared. As she walked into a compartment she spotted one of her childhood friends: Atlanta! "Hello," she said nervously, "Good to see you again Atlanta, and oh, hello," she said, noticing the other people in the compartment,"Devon Black,"pleased to meet you."

Devon lined up at the front of the hall with all the other first years, waiting to be sorted into her house. Her hands were sweaty and she glanced worridly around the hall. How would they be soted. Her answer came sooner than antacipated. Pro. McGonnigall cam into the hall and placed a three legged stool on the ground and placed an old hat on top of it...

Harry looked at what was going on. He thought about what someone told him about the houses, and begged to himself not to be in Sylithern. He waited and people were called down the line.

Atlanta craned her neck curiosly as the teacher called out names, then the hat sorted them into houses. Then she was called out. Proudly she ellbowed her way to the front, and sat on the stool. "Ah...yes..." a small voice in her ear said "Another Balckadder aye? Ah...but half a Rosewood...Hmm...You could go into Slytherine, just like youre father...Or I could put you in Gryffindor like youre mother...Let me see...Ah yes...Easy-GRYFFINDOR!" the hat bellowed.

Hermione watched as Atlanta got called. Then the teacher yelled at her name. She took a sharp breath.
"It's ok, just breathe. Calm down." She told herself. She walked up and sat on the stool. The sorting hat was placed on her head.
"Hmm.... maybe Ravenclaw for your brains... no, no, GRYFFINDOR!" It said. Hermione sighed happily and went down to the Gryffindor table

Devon clapped. She longed to be in Gryffindor or even Ravenclaw. Not so much Hufflepuff. But never Slytherin. "Devon Black?" someone called. Devon shuffled nervously up to the stool and placed the hat on her head. "Maybe Slytherin?" the hat said,"Like most of your ancestors, like your father, Regulas. Or like your dear uncle Sirius Black?" Devon hoped nobody in the hall could hear, after all they aall thought he was a murderer,"Ravenclaw, no. Gryffindor, no you are not brave enouh. Slytherin?" Devon shook her head,"NO!" she said out loud,"Then, you have a kind heart: HUFFLPUFF!" Devon smiled. At least she wasn't in Slytherin. She walked to the Hufflepuff table amidst howls and cheers.
