I knwo this is totally random but any might know.. Does anyone know how the answer to this question

In a species of chiken, feather color is a codominant trait. Heterozygous are called "checkered" chickens because they both have black and white feathers. If two chickens are mated, what would their offspring look like?

using a Punett square to find the answer of course.

and i also need to know the phenotype ratio

Oh, that's interesting, I'm doing about Phenotypes and Heterozygous/homozygous dominants in Biology.

Let's say that the Heterozygous chickens have this:

Bb
B=Black
b=white

So the punett square would be as thus:

Image

Meaning that three-quarters of the chickens that they have will be black, leaving one-quarter to be white. The ratio then being: 3:1

That's the way I learnt it, if it makes no sense to you, don't worry about it :)

Oh my god, Oro. Sudden traumatic flashback to my 8th grade science class with hundreds of genetic squares and spotted hamsters.

It's not that difficult really Celebwen, it's just basically matching letters.
B = Pure
b = Mixed

BB = Heterozygous, pure bred
Bb = Homozygous, hybrid
