ELizabeth woke the rest of the adults, and they got on their horses, Elizabeth and Tavington on one. Margaret and Susan, Gabriel and Nathan, Ben and William, and Miranda and Bordon had their own mounts.

After a while, Miranda began coughing more. By their third day on the journey, she was sick, though she kept telling everyone that she wasn't. "I'm fine..." she said one evening as they sat by the fire. "It was just the dampness that got into my lungs or something..." she coughed again.

Elizabeth sighed and she went to Miranda and placed a hand on her forehead. Her hand recoiled and she said, "Your forehead is burning!"

Miranda woke up a short while later, hot and dizzy from her fever, but feeling herself warmer...slightly. She still shivered...she had the chills. There was someone next to her, but her mind was too tired to figure out who it was......she turned her head to face the person...

She laughed softly. "Glad to see I'm not the only one.." She took off the cool cloth off Miranda's forhead, and dipped it in water.

"It's almost morning and everyone's getting ready for today...we're leaving in half an hour..and you'll be riding with--" she was cut off as she heard a gunshot. She looked up, and then looked at the others, all of who were in the campsite.
