Hope this is the right category for this...

Has anone noticed that even though this is an LOTR forum,
it doesn't have the same LOTR spirit that it used too? LOTR is kinda
not so visable around here as it used to be. I'm not really
complaining exactly, I still LOVE it here.
It's just...well...I was just thinking about it.

has anyone else noticed it but me?

Yes, I have and it is sad. All the LotR obsessing has died down a bit and people have moved on to the latest movies, etc.

But I don't think the number of fans will go down, at least I hope that they don't. LotR Lives!

Hm, I dunno. I guess it did, but my obsession is still high. ;) I always try to write at least one post in this section (for the sake of ">> game" :P) but I can't help being in love with Misc. Randomness. :teehee:

I˝ll try to write more in LotR-related themes.

I know, me too. The whole spirit of things then
was so cool! Thinking about those noble heroes all the time...

Yes, once a fan always a fan, I hope.

The thing with The Hobbit movie is, though, that if they don't use the same people (and poor Ian Holmes is getting old) it could actually stunt the fans. :-/

I'm still obsessed as ever though and having a site as well I can see that the traffic has gone down a lot. We'll still have all the true fans though, that's what counts. :)

Yeah. The only person from the LOTR movies I wonder that they
might put into the hobbit is Legolas, since Biblo goes to Mirkwood.
But he wasn't mentioned in the book.

Anyway getting back on subject.
I'm still a big fan myself. It's just that before we were all SO-
what's the word....hyped as one, I gues you could say.

Yup. You can see it in banner dedications and such. Everyone's not requesting their favorite emotional scene and what not. They're requesting Harry Potter and Narnia, and all the latest things.

And a lot of good fansites have closed down too. It's sad how it's worn out on some people.

Heeey ... I have LotR ones =D. Lolz
Well . . . I guess we'll just have to get used to the fact that not everybody is as obsessed as we are. Altho - then why do they visit pages made for fanatics? =D *sighs* Thinking too much can be painful ...

I personally love the diversity we have here. It may seem random, but I've noticed that there's a certain type of person that really loves LOTR. I've also noticed that those people are prone to liking a lot of the same movies outside LOTR (POTC, Star Wars, HP, etc). So while we all certainly love LOTR, we also share a lot of other loves that we like to discuss. I think that's really great. Most LOTR forums are strictly LOTR, and while you make friends there, it's all very limited discussion, whereas here we have a broad spectrum of things to talk about and find common ground on. Go A-U! :D

I agree with Pirate. I haven't found another forum where I can share all by obsessions- LOTR, SW, Star Wars, ect. I'm not sure I'd enjoy it so much if LOTR was the only subject we could discuss.

yes, it's good there's a variety of subjects to talk about. But I do like having obsessive, deep discussions in the Book section...

Yeah, I like the deep stuff too VK.^

The diversity has always been here I think,
but these days LOTR isn't very much in that circle of diversity..

Interesting, Synariel, I have noticed the same thing.

I think perhaps it's because all of the LotR movies are done being made? While we are still loyal fans, other movies have come out (Star Wars, Narnia, PotC) that we're all really pumped about. I don't think it's that we've forgotten, necesarilly. Perhaps it's just that other things have caught our attention, which isn't wrong. It's good to like a veriety of things.
