Túrin called himself Neithan, the wronged ,because of the slaying of Saeros, a high council to King Thingol, He made a snide remark about Túrin being "wild and unkept"; Túrin slayed him for that.(?)King Thingol raised Túrin as his own. Saeros resented Túrin for being King Thingol's fosterson ~ he was sent to Doriath by Morwen, his mother, for fear that the Easterlings would take him from her. I hope that makes sense and is somewhat correct:).
