Portia took this as her time of opportunity; while he wasn't really paying much attention. She stuck it in his arm, and put the medicine in as smoothly and carefully as possible. "If this hurts, I'm terribly sorry." She said, softly while paying close attention to his arm.
Once she was done, she took the needle out and then put it away. She got some new equipment ready on the counter and then looked back to Jack. "I'm gonna need ya ta turn o'er, Jack. I need ta see the back of yer neck."

Jack felt his body being pushed over to face the pillow rather harshley. "Now, now wait it minute now." He said this, but his voice was just a bunch of mutters, for his mouth was in the pillow. He started getting squrimy, knowing that this procedure of Portia's wasn't exactly going to be painless.

Portia looked at Devina and sighed. "Devina, please... I'm tryin' ta make this somewhat painless." She then looked back to Jack, and moved his hair out of the way. She started poking different parts of his neck, but not the cut. "Can ya feel that, Jack?"

Jack yelled in the pillow again saying loudly, "Of course I can bloody feel that!" He muttered different words in the pillow, but it was not understandable..which was probably a good thing.

Jack didn't fight back anymore, seeing that the situation is already taken place, and that him running away, surely wasn't going to help. He clenched his face, waiting for the pain.

Portia waited for a bit, and checked his arm, by lifting it up and then dropping it. "He's as limp as a dead dog." She smiled a little and then got out her equipment. "I'm not doin' much, Jack. Just puttin' a lil painkiller on you're cut. And patchin it up." She patted his back, reassuringly. "I won't hurt ya."

All of a sudden Jack's muscles slowly relaxed. He heard Portia's comments, and tried to talk, but apparently Portia made his whole body numb, and he couldn't feel his mouth or tongue. In the back of his mind he said sarcastically I'm goin' to murder that women..

"Everything will be over in no time at all." She said, while she started working on his neck. She poured some alcohol on it, to clean the wound and then started stitching it closed. After that, she covered it all up with a bandage and then slowly turned him over. "There's yer done. Told ya it wouldn't take long." She smiled a little and put her stuff away.

Jack stared up at the ceiling with no emotion on his face. The numbing hadn't gone away. He tried to speak saying, "I canth pheel a t-thin.." He felt like cursing, but if he probably did, no one could know what he was saying.

Portia nodded to Jack's reply and then glared at Devina. "Maybe time would go faster for ya, if ya went out on tha deck." She looked back to Jack and smiled a little. "Don't worry, Jack. The numbing will wear off in a few minutes."
