Silmarwen pretended to look offended, "There is still no place better than that of the Golden wood..." She chuckled and then glanced towards the sky. "Ay... it is night already. Would you prefer to continue walking or do you wish to rest a while?"

Silmarwen nodded but remained silent as she continued walking. After a few hours she glanced back, then kept her pace steady, neither slowing nor quickening. "We are being followed..." she mentioned in a semi-casual manner, though her hand was gripped upon her sword hilt. "That is one thing I cannot bring to Lorien... taking someone there is one thing, but leading trouble to the borders isn't exactly thought well of..."

Niell glanced behind them into the darkness. "I'm just wondering, could we run into a little more trouble. I thought I was supposed to be taking a reprieve," he laughed quietly.

Silmarwen chuckled and shook her head, "there is no rest for the weary..." She paused to listen, but there was only silence, though the silence was of the unnerving type. "It is a light step... light as an elf.." Silmarwen commented quietly as she continued walking.

Niell's brow creased, "I wonder...someone might have followed me from Mordor. But we should have noticed them before now..."

Silmarwen glanced at Niell. "Perhaps they found our trail afterwards and made headway by running the distance... but whatever or whoever it is, perhaps we should stand off to the sides of our trail and await its approach"

Niell nodded and silently moved into the thick foliage off to the side. Completely disappearing in the darkness.

After a minute or so, a dark cloaked figure came silently towards where Niell and Silmarwen had split off. Whoever it was, was bent down, as though searching for sign. When he reached the area of their departure from the path, he stopped, glancing back and forth.

Niell's hand strayed to his sword hilt and he gripped the weapon tightly, ready to draw it should the need arise.

The cloaked figure turned one way and then the next, looking as though he was desperate to find the subjects of his search.

Silmarwen circled around silently, and came up behind the figure, sword already unsheathed. She held the blade up, placing the point against the man's back. "The hunter becomes the hunted... wh are you? Show yourself"

The man neither responded to her question nor did he turn around or remove his hood. "A light elf... what a pleasure... so where is the dark elf?" his voice was dripping with sarcasm at the first few words, and the rest were spoken with a sneer.

Niell felt his insides turn. He drew his blade and stepped out of the foliage. "I wouldn't act so smug if I were you," he said darkly. "From this vantage it appears that we have the upper hand."

Keeping company with a light elf, stealing from the potion supply, disobeying a direct command to stay put, and continueing on in the wrong direction? Shameful behavior for a dark elf, wouldn't you say?" He would have said more, but Silmarwen dug her sword tip harder against his back.
