I found it rather amazing that no one started a topic about this awsome movie... ..thats why i am starting a topic about this movie..i think this movie was very sad cause alot of people get to die in the movie except for paris..(of course ) he would like only seem to care for his own love and not for briseis´s love..i think he was very selfish and that he was a coward..and very stupid to bring helen to Troy and risking Troy to fall...(is this sense correct? ) however, i thought this movie was beautifull...

It's surprising that we don't have a Troy thread here but we do however have a main TROY thread for Orlando Bloom and Sean Bean in the Actor's Movies section!

I think I started a thread about Troy on the first A-U forum. Blah...I don't remember....
Love will make you do crazy things...it's just really too bad Paris is a prince and he's risking a whole, entire city for the love of his life. I think Orlando's performance was just a little bit weak. I think they should have made Paris die just like the movie Helen of Troy and in the history books...

It is a pity that they did not stick to the history books

That it is. Tis still a wonderful movie though. I don't really like Paris that much (don't kill me : )) But I totally love Hector! He's just... awesome. Selfless, smart, sensable. And his son's cute too. : )

I thought all of the characters were played well, especially Odysseus and Helen. Though I wish they didn't have Paris crawl to Hector.......

I dunno; I don't adore it, and still it wasn't that bad. Maybe a bit clicheéd ...

Yeah! Hector rules!
Altho Achilleus was weird. Don't ask me why - he just looked weird to me.
Helen (oh man ... the actress's name ... forgot it :$) was great, while Menelaos and Agamemnon dissapointed me.
They should let the Gods enter the scene. I'd love to see Artemis fighting with Athena.

I found that they protrayed Menalaus and Agamemnon to be very evil -- like they were the bad guys --- well they all were, but they were super bad. But they were really cool. Great actors!

hector (hektor) was great.. Eric Bana did a good job. Although this movie made me hate Orli even more then i already did. I mean I Know Paris acted like that but I mean ithink they good of added better lines for Paris then what they had. They made him act and sound stupid.
I think Brad Pitt did an awsome job. and brought out achilles as achilles. I mean I think he brought out the toughness and the buffness of achillies. but i do have to agree he was kinda wierd.
and Garret henlund as Patroclus...I love the man to death but i think in the movie they made im look like a women...vary sad when he died
I really didnt like (oh snap I forgot her name to something kruger..) Diane?..well anyways i really didnt like her being in the role of Helen.. she really didnt bring out Helen as who she really is..
Menalaus and Agamemnon..Personal I like Helen of Troy's Agamemnon and menalaus better then the Troy's pick...Menalaus wasnt really a bad guy...but ageamemnon was a selfish guy who only cared about himself..but rufus sewell in Helen of Troy Protrayed agamenon better then that other guy in Troy
Sean Bean as Odysseus..OH yeah.. i really didnt ever picture Sean Bean playing Odysseus.. but It was okay..he was pretty hot matter of fact.

Yeah Sean bean,Eric Bana,Brad Pitt and even Orlando did a great job cause Orlando was told to play Paris that way and he did thats what makes him a great actor (he made people hate him...how hard is that )and i cried Troughout the whole movie...so many people dying and I loved the Briseis,Achilles thing even more than the whole Helen and Paris thingy...

Definitely I'm a big Eric Bana fangirl after I saw him as Hector! I think Orli did well in the role of Paris --- and trust me, I'm definitely not the biggest fan of Orlando Bloom but really that IS the character of Paris, in my opinion. A womanizer and not the best soldier in hand-to-hand combat. He's excellent in archery. And I think they should've emphasized his archery a little bit more than basically before the storming of Troy. LOTRfreak13 wrote: I think Brad Pitt did an awsome job. and brought out achilles as achilles. Brad Pitt was not my idea of Achilles, his acting was excellent to bring out the ideals of Achilles but I never really thought Achilles to be a rogue or a rebel of that sort, to fight on his own accord. There was always a sense that he was part of the Greek army. LOTRfreak13 wrote: and Garret henlund as Patroclus...I love the man to death but i think in the movie they made im look like a women...vary sad when he died There was not that much indepth about Patroclus. I'm kinda eh on the fact that they made him Achille's cousin -- unless technically they are cousins but to my knowledge they were simply bestfriends [cough] if not lovers. Diane Kruger, yes I think that's it... I thought she did pretty good, I really didn't see much of whatever personality and essence Helen had.

Patroclus..there wasnt much about him in Troy...but i kinda do have to agree..they made him his cousins..which is in fact wierd.. when they were lovers
Diane Kruger i think did an okay job.. i dont really recall her having many lines..*thinks* i just think they could of choose prettier person perhaps?

Well Diane Kruger is very beautiful in her own right and I think her glow definitely made people fall in love with her.
