I've been working remotely for about 2 years now, and while it's definitely convenient, I’ve started to wonder how sustainable it really is in the long run—especially when it comes to career growth and maintaining some kind of balance. I know some people swear by it, and others quietly return to offices or coworking spaces. What’s your experience been like? Have you found it isolating at times, or have you been able to build a routine that actually works for you? I’d love to hear how others are managing—not just the logistics but also the mental side of it. Do you feel more productive, or just… always kind of "on"?

Yeah, I’ve been full remote since early 2021. Honestly, it took me a while to realize that just because you're home doesn't mean you have free time. That blur between “work” and “life” got messy fast. I used to take quick breaks and end up doing dishes or laundry, then feel guilty for not replying to messages right away. Eventually, I started blocking my calendar in chunks, almost like artificial meetings, just to force myself into a rhythm. It's helped, but there’s still that weird feeling that the workday never really ends. I don’t hate it—but it’s definitely a different kind of exhaustion than commuting ever gave me

I can relate to a lot of what you’re saying. For me, the social part was the biggest adjustment. I didn’t realize how much I depended on casual chats or just physically being around people. I tried joining a couple of virtual coworking sessions, but they didn’t feel the same—like the silence was louder, somehow. What’s helped a bit is working from cafés once or twice a week. Even just the background noise resets my brain. I do think it’s made me more intentional with communication, though. Like, when I check in with teammates now, it’s more meaningful. But yeah, it’s still strange not to have that organic interaction. I like to do Remote First Jobs Remote First Jobs as it have a lot of free time and you can adjust your work time as you need
