Jack's eyes searched her face. He frowned his brows and took a cautious step back, "Ye know I don't fall for those tricks of yers Devina." He looked above and below him, just in case she had him in a trap.

Jack pulled his hand back to his side, and wrapped a black cloth around it, hiding the Black Spot. "Well, that's brilliant to hear." He then tied the black cloth in a knot and lifted his head back up to look at Devina.

Vari listened intently to the conversation. She knew all about this curse, even though Jack didn't know she did. ((does that make sense?)) Vari was a good snooper. And it usually paid off.

It still hurt. Even after all that time, it still hurt to talk about her father, dammed to hell till jugement day. She sniffed audiably, and looked back to Jack, pride in her eyes, pride at having not not burst into noisy tears.

Jack's eyes stared at Devina for a while, before he caught Vari listening to their conversation. He slowly whirled his body around in her direction and raised a cocky eyebrow and said, "Who gave ye the orders to listen in?"

Vari did not answer this question, but gave a sly smirk. "I know about that curse," Vari laughed. "You did not think I would stay out of it, did ye? Friends, tell friends things. And believe me, Sparrow, you're my friend. Now, I can promise not to tell the others, if you give me something in return...or, ye can let the secret slip, and the whole Caribbean would know."

After Vari had left, Jack mummbled words under his breath in a girl voice, almost immitating her for a few moments. He finally stopped and sighed and gave Devina a dirty look in his anger. "Goodnight love..." And with that Jack walked away into the darkness of the night.
