Miranda had had it. All along she had swallowed her pride and listened to Elizabeth...now this proved that her gut feeling was right, as it usually was. Well, she was going to trust that feeling from now on - she punched Tavington in the face. Whether she did it to buy time or just for the pleasure of it, she didn't know, but she had done it anyway...

He grunted but didn't let her go. "You're going to pay for that." He got on his horse, holding her tightly and galloped toward the estate.

Elizabeth was trying to comfort her daughter while she herself was berating herself for ever liking Tavington.

When they got off, Miranda struggled all the way to her cell, finally punching the bars as they slammed them in her face and yelling a name at Tavington that she had never before uttered in her life, and would never again. The pain welling up on the side of her hand and her feeling as though the bars she leaned on were not the only ones she was once again thrown behind pushed her to tears. She felt a comforting hand on her shoulder, but didn't bother turning to see who it was.

Elizabeth looked up as William entered her room. She stood up and tried to avoid him.

Miranda cried for a bit more, then started to rant in her mind. 'I knew it....' she thought, 'I knew he couldn't ever change....I should've listened to my gut. Well, I'll find some way to get out of it.....I'll find some way...' She kicked the bars again.

He grabbed her and threw her onto the bed. "You're not leaving."

"WHy, William?"

"For you.."

Miranda crossed her arms and leaned her back against the bars. Well, they were right back in the same hole again.

"Let me go." she hissed, trying to get free. His eyes narrowed, and he shouted for the guards. Once they were there, he ordered for her to be given a punishment for disobedience. "You're mine, and you better realize that." He told her, before she was dragged off.

Miranda looked up as they dragged Elizabeth past her cell, and her eyes conveyed everything. In Elizabeth's, she read regret, anger, pain, and hatred....Miranda felt stupid, fooled, angry, betrayed......too many things to list...

Elizabeth cried out when they hurled her into a cell, her shoulder making contact with the wall. She curled into a ball and started crying.

Miranda looked away from Elizabeth's degraded form. She couldn't bear to see her that way....why was it that times like this brought out the worst of some, yet the best in others? The weakness in some, yet hidden strength in others? She didn't know, all she knew was that she and Elizabeth were not going to crumple up and succumb to their mind games. "Elizabeth!" she called.

Miranda looked at her and smiled. "You haven't called me that in years...." She put on her serious face. "We need to find a way out of here."
