I agree with Gwenneth and Synariel. I'll admit, I'm definitely not as interested in it as I once was, but I was also really naive when I got into LotR. I was mostly obsessive to compete with my friend's obsessiveness, so we were there being obsessed with LotR together. Now she's pretty much over it, but I've still been holding onto it. I feel bad that I haven't been posting as much in this section as I used to, though. Also, the movies are kind of getting "old." The book is still ageless, of course, but you reach a point with the movies where you know every single line, and every single move, and every single facial expression they make. It's kind of lost it's magic.
Still, I'm trying to make sure I don't forget about it! Mostly by coming onto this forum, and going on A-U. I'm just waiting for some inpiration.

I think perhaps it's because all of the LotR movies are done being made? While we are still loyal fans, other movies have come out (Star Wars, Narnia, PotC) that we're all really pumped about. I don't think it's that we've forgotten, necesarilly. Perhaps it's just that other things have caught our attention, which isn't wrong. It's good to like a veriety of things.
Yeah. I'm not saying it's wrong. Of course it's not.
I just kinda miss the deepness of our LOTR discussions sometimes.

I know what this topic means. Ppl are mostly around the Completely misc lotr section over here, and when you look at fotr, ttt, rotk book and movie discussion, it lives here more then over there.

I think it's died down a little because the suspense is gone. Right? I mean ROTK was made and now everyone who didn't read the book, knows what happens Now there's not really a way to change that, but Oh Well!

I'm still a huge fan. But i don't think it's a bad thing to exclude the other new things that everyone's excited about. And most of the other movies we talk about involve the actors/actresses from the LOTR movies anyway.

I've noticed the decline of LotR talk as well...I'm guilty of not visiting the LotR sections for months. Just a couple weeks ago I decided to check them out again I haven't read the books or watched the movies for a while now either.
We're all still LotR fans, but your focus changes sometimes. Right Now I'm fanatical about Harry Potter, but deep down I'm first and foremost a Ringer

Every day i read a part from Lotr, it gave me inspiration for my novel....Lotr really changed my life a bit. I´m writing a novel now, and Lotr really gives you the feeling of you going into another world...i love it.
